Tim Weah's loan to Celtic is official (The rest of this season and an option for next year as well), PSG contract has been extended to 2021 as well.

Also kinda cringing online over the solidarity payment issues, because I follow a lot of never MLSers and they seem to think that PA Classics should get the money even though they themselves don't want it. (I'm against Pay to play but I feel like never MLSers can't accept that we're in infacy development)

I think MLS is for the solidarity payments now though. Since the keep getting their academy players poached lol.

Yep, but not the MLS Players Union, it's a complicated issue.

I need to clarify something about Weah, it's not entirely official but he's in Dubai getting a physical (It's there because I think the team is training there on break), the contract extension could be because of a 18 month loan to Celtic as well, no option to extend it.

Tyler Adams on the bench today for RB Leipzig. He didn't make his debut, but still pretty impressive that the trust they kid enough to include him in the squad already.

Also, Tim Weah scored in his Celtic debut.

Harkes also scored for Dundee. Keeton Parks was loaned to NYCFC from Benifica. I hate when the young kids have to come back to MLS but he wasn't getting passed the B team for some reason.

Tyler Adams started and went 90 minutes for Leipzig today.

Also, the MLS squad is playing Panama right now in Berhalter’s debut. Currently the US is up 1-0 on a Milhailovic goal. They have 62% possession, it doesn’t look perfect so far, but keeping the ball and actually getting attacking opportunities is a pleasant change from the typical January friendly.

Also, word out of camp is that Mihailovic looked great in training. You’d typically temper any excitement about January camp performance, but Mihailovic is a 20 year old, #10 attacking mid type player who had a very solid season for the Chicago Fire as an 18 year old. He spent almost all last year recovering from an ACL tear and is finally back to full health.

It was nice to see them have ideas and look like they know their roles. Bradley even played some defense! Need to see him do it against some better teams now.

Was impressed with the team yesterday. Yes it was Panama's B team, but it was our C team coming off of 15 months of dark clouds.

Team new their roles, the attacking side fullback seemed to press while it looked like a back three when on the attack and a back 4 when on D which i think was well done and played. They acutally played with some fire as well, which we haven't seen for a long time.

Djordje isn't long for the MLS. He is going to be good. Of course I thought Zardes had a shot at being good a couple years ago and if he had anything that game yesterday would have been 5-0.

Rapids just turned down a 3 million dollar bid for Kelyn Acosta from a Championship side. He needs to go to Europe BAD.

Berhalter’s announced his squad for the March friendlies.

GOALKEEPERS: Ethan Horvath (Club Brugge, BEL; 3/0), Sean Johnson (New York City FC; 6/0), Zack Steffen (Columbus Crew SC; 8/0)

DEFENDERS: John Brooks (Wolfsburg, GER; 36/3), Omar Gonzalez (Atlas, MEX; 48/3), Nick Lima (San Jose Earthquakes; 2/0), Aaron Long(New York Red Bulls; 4/0), Daniel Lovitz (Montreal Impact; 2/0), Matt Miazga (Reading, ENG; 11/1), Tim Ream (Fulham, ENG; 26/1), DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle United, ENG; 57/0)

MIDFIELDERS: Tyler Adams (RB Leipzig, GER; 9/1), Michael Bradley (Toronto FC, CAN; 143/17), Sebastian Lletget (LA Galaxy; 7/2), Weston McKennie (Schalke, GER; 7/1), Christian Pulisic (Borussia Dortmund, GER; 23/9), Cristian Roldan(Seattle Sounders FC; 7/0), Wil Trapp (Columbus Crew SC; 13/0)

FORWARDS: Paul Arriola (D.C. United; 19/3), Corey Baird (Real Salt Lake; 2/0), Jonathan Lewis(New York City FC; 2/0), Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders FC; 25/5), Christian Ramirez (LAFC; 2/1), Gyasi Zardes (Columbus Crew SC; 42/6)

The names you would expect from Europe were basically mixed into the January roster. Notable exclusions would be Bobby Wood, Josh Sargent, and Tim Weah. Berhalter may be thinking about getting Sargent and Weah involved with the U23s assuming he wants to make a serious push at qualifying for the Olympics.

Those strikers.....woof.... but ya the speculation is they are going hard in on the U-23 team (Djordge (sp), Weah, Sargent)

Looks like the 4-2-3-1 or a 3-5-2 maybe is going to be the formation with the players that are called in here.

Steffen
Lima, Miazag, Brooks, Yedlin
Bradley Trapp
Adams Mkennie Pulisic
Zardes (sigh)

or
Steffen
Long, Brooks, Miazga
Yedlin, Adams, McKinnie, Bradley, Lima
Zardes,Pulisic

in the 3-5-2 Yedlin and Lima are wingbacks, Bradley tucks in behind Adams and Mckinnie and Pulisic plays as a 10 (which he isn't good at, but what else we gonna do?)

Jamaica will be the Carribean country hosting a part of the Gold Cup. Figured that I should update on that.

Tim Weah started for Celtic and scored in the 14th minute this weekend, should be starting a lot more now that Celtic has the Scottish League all wrapped up.

I know this isn't on a total national scale but Des Moines Menace announced their playing venue for the USL League 2 (It's still PDL but it's rebranded to keep in line with USL Championship in D2 and USL League 1 in D3) season, Drake Stadium, but the first game will be at the Cownie Sports Complex, really interesting announcement regardless because they'll be opening up all of Drake Stadium, on top of the possible D3 call up/expansion rumors

Gold Cup changes for this year,

1. No more squad changes after the Group Stage
2. Extra Time is back after 90 minutes in the Knockout phase
3. All other IFAB rule changes are in effect (I'm guessing VAR?)

Yep St. Paul is Guyana at Minnesota United's new stadium, Allianz Field (So if the US does win, they're going to sing Wonderwall, which is tradition up there), Cleveland is TnT, and Panama at Children's Mercy Park.

Should note that it's official that Jesse Marsch will coach Austria's Red Bull Salzburg next season.

Guys who hate the current MLS buy in system, turn away.
https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/04/18/mls-announces-plans-expand-30-teams
(Which means 3 unannounced teams along with the currently confirmed teams of Inter Miami (Beckham's team) CF, Nashville SC, and Austin FC (Precourt's team because no one would let him relocate the Crew), 28 and 29 are speculated to be St. Louis (not the USL group) and Sacremento Republic FC, 30 is up in the air at this point)

Expansion fee is still at 200 Million

In other MLS related news, MLS teams will start receiving/paying solidarity payments. No word on if they're paying US Based teams though
