Jurgen sure does seem to love throwing his players under the bus. First, he plays Bedoya out of position as a defensive mid and then subs him off saying that he couldn't find his rhythm. Now this....

http://www.si.com/planet-futbol/2015/10/12/jurgen-klinsmann-fabian-johnson-usa-costa-rica-friendly

Even if Fabian was being soft in asking out of the game, it's not exactly great man-management by letting the press know how much of a wuss your player was being. Keep it in house. This just smacks of a weak attempt at misdirection by Klinsmann. We wouldn't want the media to talk about the tactically inept performance against Mexico, WE'VE GOT GUYS TAPPING OUT FOR CRISSAKES!!!

Agreed. I wasn't on the fire JK bandwagon after Saturday's dibacle (u23s & Mex) but calling a player out like that really rubs me the wrong way. I'd be okay with a managerial change.

Didn't Johnson just come back from an injury? There's no way he's fit enough to go 120 minutes, or 90 for that matter. Especially in that heat.

Agreeing with the rest of the group that Jurgen's charade is getting old. He wants everyone on the national team to be held to a higher standard and take accountability, except for him. He's always full of excuses. And let's not even get started on he's tatical ability. 2015 was a complete failure. I wonder what comes next in his "master plan."

Only positive is that a lot of the 30+ year olds played their last match on Saturday. So we won't have to see Beckerman(love what he's done on the past but he's well past his time) and others like him, dragging themselves around the field. Actually, I think we have quite a few promising players in the pipeline. Let's just hope they get put in positions to succeed at the national level.

Fabian Johnson is now being treated for a thigh injury back at his club. I wonder how Jurgen will spin this...

Here was US team that beat #1 Spain in the 09 Confederations Cup:

Howard
Spector - Demerit - Onyewu - Bocanegra
Dempsey - Clark - Bradley - Donovan
Davies - Altidore
Subs used: Feilhaber - Casey - Bornstein

What has changed for the better since Jurgen took over in 2011?

Tactically still the same, but with a coach that doesn't think tactics matter. We lack the complimentary striker that Davies was pre-accident. Probably gave up on Benny Feilhaber too soon as well considering his play for Sporting KC the past few years. He'd at least be a useful sub.

I have to say Jurgen preached change, but has given us basically no change.

World Cup qualifying starts tonight for the U.S. Their first match is against St. Vincent and the Grenadines immediately after the ISU game. No Dempsey on this roster which is interesting, and a couple of new faces in Darlington Nagbe and Matt Miazga.

The worst thing to happen to the US set up was Charlie Davies car crash. He could have been our Aguero/Suarez (obviously not on that level but in terms of his value to our own team and in our region).

Also hate him or love him Landon Donovan was freaking legit especially at international level. Dempsey's not so great since Lando retired.

I don't think this is fair. Dempsey scored 2 of the 5 goals the U.S. put in at the World Cup. He's scored 9 in 9 appearances in 2015 which included 7 out of the 12 total US goals in the Gold Cup. He looked disinterested and awful in the last Mexico match, but at this point, he's the only guy on the team who can find the back of the net on a consistent basis.

I get the Dempsey love, but they guy only works if he thinks he is getting a shot on goal out of it. Especially evident in the Mexico match but was also true in the Gold Cup. I love the guy he has done a ton, but his work rate is not so good anymore. and the US can't afford to play 10 on a 11 except for scoring chances.

The other bad thing that came out if that Tourney was Feilhaber was seen as a liability and Michael Bradley was seen as a great CM.

Again tonight Central Mid gives it away. Bradley and Jones with a turnover and left with their dicks in their hands as St. ******* Vincent take the lead.

When will Jurgen get rid of the **** in the midfield. Bradley, Jones, Beckerman SUCK

Our problem is we have no good CMs so it forces his had to play Bradley and Jones. IMHO Bradley is okay in the midfield if he is linking the defenders to the midfield, but he doesn't have the ability to like to the attackers, he isn't naturally a creative force. He is better now than he was 4 years ago.

Does anyone know much about Miazga. The Twelster is waxing poetic about him. Not really Taylor doesn't have that ability.

best things about tonight, Mizanga becoming controlled, Fabian Johnson playing on the wing. Love or hate Taylor Twellman he made a very good point that the US has to find a back four that allows Fabian to slide to the wing. maybe its ream and yedlin out wide, maybe Breck shea can play out there.

Also Zardes is not a wing. Would love to see Wood, Johansson (i know, hurt), and Zardes up top. Maybe see a 4 2 3 1.

as far as Fielhaber is concerned he is his own worst enemy. Everyone hates him. Maybe if he was just a little more liked he would get another chance.
I play on a team in a mens league with a former guy who has been capped a few times and played all over MLS and Europe, said JK and Fielhaber can't stand each other.

Thatguy is being that guy go figure!

You know a guy, sure. When has Benny been called in under Jurgen? Never

Now it is well documented that Benny and Bob Bradley didn't get along because Benny was out spoken that the only reason Michael got a a chance under Bob was Nepotism. Benny is vindicated there.

That would explain why Benny is never capped anymore. He's got creativity that the usmnt needs...just glad we got Miazga capped. The guy is gonna be a beast.

Agree with what people said about the midfield. Bradley is only one that belongs but it seems his work rate isn't there anymore. Especially on the defensive end. Hopefully Nagbe and guys like Trapp and Zealam (?) step up before the next World Cup. Otherwise, we're in trouble.

I am actually not too concerned with our forwards going forward. With Wood and Zardes I think we'll be ok. And maybe Dwyer and the guy from Dortmund, we should be ok in that position in the future.

Wrong. Feilhaber was called into the 2012 January camp and played in a friendly against Venezuela. I was at that match and Feilhaber had a full on meltdown with the ref. The ref was horrible in that match letting Venezuela basically tackle guys in the box on corners, but Benny's reaction was way over the top. I'm talking full-on toddler, temper tantrum type stuff. I have no idea if this is part of the reason why Klinsmann hasn't called him in since, but it's pretty well known that Feilhaber is kind of just an asshat in general. He's a talented player, but if he's not getting caps I think it's likely he's the one who lit the match and burned down that bridge.

And the full on hate about Bradley is weird.

US vs Trinidad & Tobago tonight on beIN sports down in the Caribbean. This will be a much tougher test than Friday. In fact, this will probably be the most difficult match in this round of qualifying in terms of quality of opponent.
