OFFICIAL Twister Sisters @ Oklahoma thread

Game is on Full Court. Have to switch between the mens game.

Oklahoma is actually only 0.0005 behind UConn at collegerpi.com. A win over us likely puts Oklahoma at RPI #1 because UConn is playing a much weaker opponent tonight.

Of course, we'll beat Oklahoma and make it moot. :)

twister sisters @ oklahoma takes on a whole new meaning today. i wonder how long it will take for someone to yell at you for being insensitive. just remind them that yesterdays fatal tornados occured in oklahoma city, not norman.

so - a couple thoughts:

1. I should have just started the thread. Gotten some more credits. Not like I need them...but mred certainly does not need them. I have a lot of betting to do to catch up.
2. While tonight's game will be difficult, even in a loss this game is a HUGE measuring stick. For a couple reasons:
*They will have to really screw up not to be a 1 seed in the ncaas-and it'll be good both for us and the tourney committee to see how we match up.
*With all likelihood, a Big 12 Championship will involve a game against OU in OKC. Which is basically a home game for them, just like tonight. And we all remember how difficult that was two years ago. Anything just to show our girls that we can compete with them will go a long ways. All about playing the team, not the number in front of it

They've beaten us every time we've faced them during the Paris twins era, but we've been competitive at times:

2006: lost at home by 20
2006 (B12 Tournament): lost in Dallas by 4
2007: lost in Norman by 20
2007 (B12 Tournament): lost in OKC by 7
2008: lost at home by 3

This is the best OU team in that era. However, this is also the best ISU team in that era.

have you guys seen how much weight ashley has lost? wow. She is incredibly more athletic than courtney this season. Playing like a real PF. I can only imagine if Courtney had lost 15-20 lbs over the off season. She'd be scoring even more

Don't forget if the men aren't ahead by at least 12 points at the 4-minute mark in the 2nd half you can just turn the game off and assume we lost.

This game is also on ESPN360.com, so those of us with Mediacom (or another supported provider) can watch the game online. You can have the MBB game on the TV and the WBB game on the computer at the same time. :)
My provider does not support espn360. :skeptical: It's also not listed on the channels that I think are usually full court on my cable (which i don't have anyways). I might have to give buffallo wild wings a call and see if they have ESPN Full Court....

I'll be listening on line to the Sisters and following the men's game via live stats. I have priorities. Go Sisters!

Your putting credits on the sisters and not the brothers...I know where your priorities are.:jimlad:

I noticed the same thing - Ashley looks totally different, and is much quicker.
OU has a lot to prove this year, since last year was such a dud for them.

IF we get a bookie up for the Sisters, then of course I'm putting credits on our girls. I am a Homer after all.

If you realized just how close Norman was to Oklahoma City you would understand why they would be sensitive about such comments. They are literally like 10 miles from downtown OKC.

We just need to run Courntey until her lunch comes up (which could make quite a mess).

I remember years ago when my daughter was at one of Bill's basketball camps and he looked into the crowd and noticed a couple shirts with other school's on them. He stated he would prefer the campers not wear another team's shirt, except for the one Oklahoma shirt he saw. He stated "You can keep that Oklahoma shirt on because they can't beat us anyway." This is when we were winning a string of games against them.
