It's clear we've been broken for a few games now, with the exception of the second half of Monday's OU game. You can point to defense, ball movement, whatever...but when you're broken nothing works like it's supposed to so it's impossible to pinpoint any one thing as the solution.

I will say this...I think this team lacks the "grit" (to use an overused word) that some of our other teams have had. Instead of being able to pull themselves out of funks they often seem to spiral further. The effort can be lackluster sometimes. Perhaps it's as easily explained as the lack of a charismatic leader like a Niang or Naz, or the youth on the team.

But sometimes in my own mind I come back to the comments Prohm made numerous times in the offseason, about the pride of playing for this program, wearing this jersey, playing for each other, etc. This is pure speculation on my part, but perhaps with Lard's issues, NBA talk for THT and Wigginton, and who knows what else is going on...maybe chemistry and egos are a problem.

There’s a very real chance this could go down as one of the most disappointing seasons in program history. This was supposed to be a year to bounce back. We had several real shots at winning the Big12. We had a potential tournament path of DSM->KC->MSP. This was Prohm’s chance to show he can rebuild and give us a taste of what he could do. But here we are, the “most talented” team in the conference, trending heavily the wrong direction in March, and outside of 3 big wins where we caught fire from 3, we really don’t have much to show for it.

Sigh. I am a sad man today. This team could’ve been special.

Go back to the pre-Orr years or McDermott years, and you’ll find this isn’t even in the conversation.

Watch out for Cat stephens. He is very smart and always right, and you’re wrong if you criticize Iowa State

Jesus you can’t even spell either.

I know it sucks getting called out for your lack of fandom, but I am a little concerned I’m that rent free in your head.

Now go back to pretending to understand basketball and think you’re getting it done with the rest of the crew

Just please stay out of the 8-9 seed game. That’s all I ask.

Lowest seed we would get is a 7. This loss, as bad as it was, won't hurt us much. Now if we lose at WVU that is a bad loss. That's the only game left, including KC, that would cause us to drop a few spots in NET, etc. We are still top 15 on KenPom after this loss. I personally think if we win at WVU and lose to Tech and lose in KC we would still be a 6 seed.

Throw it away, onto the next. Lot to play for still.

Probably karma coming back for our shooting in Manhattan.

They mentioned Texas hit the same number of 3's at Baylor, Baylor was able to keep pace and hit a bunch themselves.

Clearly they are feeling it.

Dude, if you were seriously thinking that this was a potential final 4 team, then your expectations were way off base. This is still the same program that was dead last in the conference last season, with 4 wins. Teams don't go from last place to first place.

This team was never as good as some thought it was. It just isn't.
