***Official Sugar Bowl Thread***

I don't think any conference will rise to where the SEC was. The BCS system helped the SEC stay at the top. For instance this year, it would have been Alabama vs FSU for the NC and Alabama would have killed FSU and then the SEC folks would have had their chests out about another national title.

That's a good point, and no conference may rise to that same level. But I think the days of the SEC being the best conference are numbered. I think the Pac-12 may already be better, honestly.

I completely understand the hate for tOSU, and I typically share it, but I think they've been under rated coming into this game by many. Their D is good and their O is better, and this is with their 3rd string QB. If they can keep the passing game on track, their running game will be hard for Bama to stop.

props

So, I think it was already announced that Herman would NOT coach the national championship game if they won today right?

I still wish it would have been TCU kicking Alabama's ***. (and they would have)

I don't care the results today, still think TCU and Baylor both had better resumes then Ohio State and deserved to be there over them. That being said, with the benefit of hindsight, Florida State should of been the team left out. Bama/TCU, Ohio State/Oregon would of been good games.

No, the committee was charged with picking the top 4 teams not just looking at their "resumes." Jumping OSU into the top 4 turned out to be genius on their part. They knew what they were doing.

This. Although I do agree that in hindsight TCU should have been in over Florida State. No way you can justify leaving out an undefeated team though.

Talking about the wonderful "eye test"? Yes, committee and College Football's brass love the eye test. Allows them to put whoever they want in.

The "eye test" also had TCU better than FSU (along with several other teams), but you know that undefeated "resume" just couldn't keep them out.
