I thought it was a hard rule that the top 2-seed could not be in the same region as the top overall team?
To defend Lunardi, which I’m loathe to do:

He had ISU in the East because he had UConn as the top overall 2 seed (5 on the S Curve) and Duke as the top overall 1 (1 on the S-Curve). So bracket rules wouldn’t allow those two to be in the same region. Next closest regional from Storrs was Chicago, hence UConn in the MW.

Lunardi also hasn’t updated his bracket this morning. So you’re looking at his old bracket going into yesterday’s games. We’ll see how it looks when he updates this morning.

His bracket was updated at 1:15 this morning. His bracket sheet showing his overall rankings hasn't been updated since 7:30PM yesterday, and was posted before the end of the ACC, Big 12 and Big East Championships.

Yes in theory, they attempt to avoid that but most of the other rules can overrule that. But I guess in this scenario we’re discussing (Lunardi’s prediction), you might be right that there isn’t another rule that could cause it to happen except for the closest region/location rules.

What a great day

selfishly I want Midwest/east because I’ll be on a work trip that Thursday of the S16 and the Midwest/east plays Friday.

Think we’re in one of those anyway.
I'll take good care of ur mom while you're gone.

Is there a world where we stay a number 1 seed? We were already chosen as the 4th number 1 and based off conference tournaments which has never mattered before but maybe this year is an outlier, we were the only ones that played like a 1 seed. I don't know, I just have this weird feeling since the top 10 are so close together after the top 3.
zero chance of that. closer to a 3 seed than a 1 seed.

No, the four top seeds will be Arizona, Michigan, Duke and Florida, all either won their conference tournament or are in the finals. ISU moved up from the #1 three seed onto the two line with our performance in the B12 tournament. Short of winning it, that is about as good as you can ask for ISU. I would guess we will be the 7th team in rankings. We jumped ahead of MSU and UCONN with our performance and both not winning their conference championship.
uconn and msu were already ahead of isu. how does isu jump them by also not winning their conference tourney?

Exhibit C about why Lunardi is a terrible bracketologist. Even though he did an overnight update, he sometimes delays to do so. It was quite plausible that he didn't do an overnight update.

CBS updated this morning dropping ISU to a 3 seed in the Midwest with Vandy as a 2. Purdue also a 2.

I thought I heard on a podcast that there was going to be a live show tonight for coverage and analysis of the brackets, but I can't find anything about it. Does anybody know if it will be live during the bracket reveal show? Or will it start afterwards?

UNI, Iowa, Nebraska, and ISU in the same region is rage bait
