Some conference tournaments are more equal than others.

We got a 2 seed two years ago likely because we won the Big 12 tournament. I don't know if a single game changes anything, but winning the tournament certainly does.

3 years ago we had the metrics of a 1 and we were told the conference tournament didn't matter. I guess it does.

It only matters if your conference is the B1G or $EC. Any other conference any committee (CFB or MBB) is just going to move the goal post and change their rationale every year.
