Most recent Bracketmatrix update. 59 brackets have us as a 3 seed, 18 have us as a 4 seed.

All but 1 of those 18 brackets have A&M replacing us on the 3 line. Which I really don’t think is going to happen. I was more concerned with Maryland’s run.

The 1 bracket that has both us and A&M as a 4 is, of course, dumbass Lunardi. Who has Michigan as the last 3 (the only bracket that has the Wolverines as a 3, and most have them as a 5).

That would be a crazy rise for Michigan, based solely on their conference tournament run. Even if they were to win, it would be a rise from a 6 to a 3, which goes against what the committee says every year about the conference tournaments.

On top of that, they would have to wait until the result of the Big 10 championship, because no way you could justify Michigan a 3 seed with a loss.
It's just further examples of how terrible Lunardi is. I fully expect him to change his bracket again before selection shows.

Probably already stated but Baylor, Arizona St, and K-State wins are all hanging on to Q1 status by a 1 or two spots in the NET.. No more Q3 loss, as KSU is 75th in the NET, right on the line for a Q2 home loss..

16-8 in the first 2 quads is one win ahead A&M!

No way they’ll move up that high. They were on a 3-game losing streak coming into the B10 tourney including a 20 point loss to Illinois and a 17 point loss to Michigan State

Not sure how much that necessarily helps being the committee had seeds 1 through 9 completed yesterday morning

Not how it works at all.

TV sets them, local time be damned. SLC started at 10:15 AM local time a couple years ago.

TIL. I really thought the tournament would push the west host cities towards the last start time for each session. I guess it really is dependent on matchups.

The only thing that is assured is that 10 minutes into the show on ESPN,Jay Bilas will complain about the bracketing. It's a tradition like no other.

Last year, Omaha had the final game on Thursday night (10:05 ET/9:05 CT).

The last game in the first round is usually around 10pm ET (8:00 MT/7:00 PT). The western sites still have to play 4 games on the first day, so they have to start earlier -- and often not have a full break between sessions -- in order to even fit their last game to the TV window.

Salt Lake City last year (MT): 12:00, 2:30, 5:25, 7:55
Spokane last year (PT): 10:45, 1:15, 4:35, 7:05

SLC also had the first two games of the second round on Saturday, starting at 10:45am local, while Pittsburgh (9:40pm ET) had the last game.

If we get F’d they will put us in Witchita, because who the heck wants to hang out there?
OMfG. I've been to Witchita. Can attest there isn't jack shiate to do there. Matter of fact, Provo, Utah might be more exciting. Only place worse, and a tournament would never be held there, is Lubbock, Texas.

Can we talk about how terrible the list of cities are this year?

Best to worst in order:

Cleveland
San Antonio
Denver
Seattle
Raleigh
Milwaukee
Indianapolis
Atlanta
Providence
San Francisco
Dayton
Wichita
Lexington
Newark

I'm just about ready to bail on the first weekend and just hold a neighborhood tailgate in Ames. Then go to the first day of the Regional weekend wherever it is. Hoping for Atlanta because my nephew is getting married on Saturday of that weekend.

Why? Isn't his precious Dookie getting a 1 seed?

He's still the only one on the matrix with them at a 3. There are more bracketeers with them as a 6 than them at 3.

Your ranking of best to worst is incredibly suspect. You have two clear four seeds as the top two spots in the field.

From my CBB and Other experiences:

Atlanta: GREAT city, Easy to navigate from Airport to Hotel to Arena by Marta. Exprience: NBA Hawks @ Phillips Arena, NCAA and ACC Tournaments @ Georgia Dome and MBB @ GT Regular Season. The ATL is defintiely at the top of my list for Ease and Fun.

Lexington: Rupp is Basketball friendly, connected to the Hyatt and De Sha's for dinner is close. Experience: UK MBB @ Rupp and UK WBB @ Memorial Coliseum

Dayton: Love the Arena and Basketball Support. Nice if you can land a hotel spot in walking distance to the arena. Experience: First Four, NCAA Second Round and MBB @ Dayton Flyers

Other Sports:

San Francisco: Love San Francisco! MLB @ Giants (Candlestick and AT&T).

Seattle: Great Downtown, MLB @ Mariners (Kingdome and Safeco) and CFB @ Washington Huskies.

Denver: Nice Downtown, MLB @ Rockies (Coors Field)

Cleveland: Nice enough Downtown, MLB @ Indians (Progressive Field)

Milwaukee: Okay Downtown, MLB @ Brewers (County Stadium and American Family Field).

San Antonio: Never been
Raleigh: Never been
Providence: Never been
Indianapolis: Never been (driven through)
Wichita: Never been (driven through)
Newark Never Been (Train Station after Basic Training)

Would love to visit any of them for NCAA Tournament

Cyclone revenge tour. Get the 3 seed. UAB round 1. Missouri (remember football!) in round 2. Michigan State in the sweet 16. UConn goes on a run and we beat them in the elite eight. Exorcise those demons!

Newark is not bad honestly. I know some really good old fashioned diners out there. I’m salivating thinking about it.
