Didn’t watch, but a lot of guys look like they have a higher top speed than Hall who aren’t nearly as fast as him.Looks like higher end speed than Breece
Both those are true, it is also true that Hansen lacked break away speed and Sama would too often go 1 on 11.Hansen was incredible. Sama was improved from the year before.
As a tandem of backs, they were very good. Individually flawed. I don't think we called plays to Samas strength either. Against Colorado, we should have just run off tackle until they stopped it. Instead we kept just doing other things that didn't work.Honest question for folks. How good do you think our running backs were last year? Sama had some "wow" plays and Hansen was a really tough runner.
At the same time, Sama did not seem liked he read the field that well and Hansen lacked break away speed. It just makes me wonder how well some of these other RBs we're looking at would do with similar O Line play.
I'm neither optimisitic nor pessimistic at this point, to be honest.
He certainly has flipped the number of 3 stars vs 4/5 stars on that team, even taking those who followed Franklin to VT into consideration. Pedo St fans fall in 3 camps - some point Indiana and believe they can do it too. Some over value ex-ISU players bc they’ve bought into Campbell speak or believe they’re just to fill out the roster. And a very small portion know they are screwed.I thought Campbell left because he could land better players with more money. Then why is Campbell competing with Iowa State for same kids. Maybe i have this all wrong.
My buddy is a Purdue fan,What a completely awful place to go. High school stadium and perennial bottom feeder in the B10.
Pettaways high school 40 time was 4.43..not too shabby

Tyler Roehl was the primary recruiter of Caleb Francois (when he was running back coach at Iowa State two years ago).Has it been confirmed the RB for the incoming class is for sure sticking to the commitment or just assuming since he hasn’t asked for a release yet?
Did he play much this year?Bet he's looking for a serious bag of money. And his agent probably has it lined up.
This could probably go in its own thread, but I'll put it here. Jaylen Raynor apparently does some Vlogging and posted his ISU visit and subsequent commitment on YouTube.

Hampton was not good. Maybe they didn't utilize him like they should have. I doubt the staff is in to wasting schollies on guys they don't think can help the program in some way.7 receptions for 36 yards this year! Maybe he was hurt during the 2025 season and maybe the coaching staff have prior knowledge of his capabilities? Let's hope so.
Blocking tight ends are important too.7 receptions for 36 yards this year! Maybe he was hurt during the 2025 season and maybe the coaching staff have prior knowledge of his capabilities? Let's hope so.
