***Official portal tracker thread***

We have 51 guys in the portal and a recruiting class the same size as the one we signed. We should be able to sign 51 guys.

Stupid question time. Any chance a few major donors pooled say... 1,2, 3 million together and gave it to JP to go shopping for FB? Is that allowed?

From the article, "Indiana's Fall 2025 class had a median high school GPA of 3.94"

Grade inflation at all levels is just insane these days. You know the average student was supposed to get a C. Over time grades have become completely meaningless. Everyone gets an A. When the number of athletes on the dean's list was bragged on, I checked out how many were on the dean's list at ISU. Over 10,000. So just about a third. Tried to compare that to past decades but couldn't find any data.
If someone lists their gpa on their resume, I toss it away. Experiences first

Yes it is. We can't afford to add the extra scholarships for women's sports which we would be required to do.
We are ahead on womens scholarships, we could add a mens sport and not have a problem with title 9. So adding a few mens scholarships wont affect it. At least that was the case as recently as last year.

I don't know that it really helps if it goes through the University. It would help in the sense that JP would not be dipping into reserves. That's not meaningless in the grand scheme of things, but I don't think it would mean any additional money going to the FB players.

That said, if those donors had private businesses and they wanted to engage in some kind of direct marketing agreement with specific players, then that would be additional money.

This assumes, of course, the $X they contribute to a direct NIL deal with Player Y doesn't reduce the amount of money they give to the university that gets paid out to all athletes via revenue share.

Its ok to have more women on athletic scholarships, but not more men? Is that really how Title IX works?

Im sure you can count just like I can.

That being said its not just about the total number it is a ratio, compared to the total student body numbers.
I don't even know where to look. I know that wrestling gets 9.9 scholarships. I don't know how many we give out for other secondary sports. It's not just counting the rosters.

If you can point to the right spot, I will count.

Did I ever say it was about total numbers? Did I?
