***Official portal tracker thread***

That includes the recruiting class though correct? So before this all happened we had 22 schollie kids in the recruiting class and not 51 players in the portal. Our current class appears to have 21 kids and we've got 28 portal guys. The 2026 class numbers are lining up but we're still 23 short of the portal entries, correct? In other words we had 51 outgoing portal guys and a slug of decommits. So the total number needed is about 70.

According to the first post in this thread, 54 outgoing players, 48 incoming (27 transfers / 21 commits). Add the 17 staying, & we're currently at 65 on the roster, with another 10-15 that haven't said whether they're staying or going. So if you're looking to get to 105, I'd imagine we're anywhere from 25-40 short at this point?

I imagine the quote you refer to is the final paragraph in his ESPN interview: https://www.espn.com/college-footba...o-becht-transfers-penn-state-best-opportunity

“He also said he was excited to see his head coach, Campbell, in a new place. He said that they strived to win the national title at Iowa State, but it was a hard environment to compete at those highest levels.

‘We were listening to him talk yesterday, and something about him changed,’ Becht said. ‘He's got the resources and people behind him and a program behind him to do what he wants to do -- compete for a national championship.’"

No, just never heard of Sioux Falls. Is this an actual college?
Yes, University of Sioux Falls. Kalen DeBoer coached there in the 2000's.

Didn't Jimmy already take the SDSU guys with talent with him to Wazzu? I would think that anyone who was left behind at SDSU surely wouldn't be Big 12 quality if Jimmy didn't think they could hack it at the G5 level either.
He did take a decent amount to Wazzu. I was mainly thinking of guys that were freshmen & sophs when he left and not quite P4 ready, but have developed more towards being P4 guys... which he had prior relationships with.

The Jacks were pretty formidable early on in 2025, but were ravaged by injuries and barely made the playoffs. I didn't follow them closely but they had a really good QB. Too many injuries by midseason to get a good read on the talent level. 2025 was also probably a hangover season for them to regroup after a bunch left for Wazzu.
