***Official portal tracker thread***

Cody Jackson was the #6 WR in the country coming out of high school according to 247. Has to be one of the highest-rated recruits by high school ranking to ever play for ISU. Started his college career at Oklahoma and then Houston.

He is not as highly regarded these days now coming from Tarleton State but still interesting. ISU will be school #4 for him.

With all due respect when you have 60+ openings to fill and you are 15% into the portal window and signed a total of 3 impact transfers there is going to be a small bit of concern especially given that multiple insiders on both here and 247 believed we would 12+ commits and announcements by Saturday morning.
I’m guessing if we get 7-10 Washington State commits and Awls then the level of concern will begin to dissipate. Having a plan is great; executing that recruiting plan is necessary if we are going to be competitive next year. Exline and the Akron o-linemen is a nice start, Raynor is fine as a one year rental until Moberly is ready but we need about a 6-10 more in the next 48 hours to build some momentum.
So you think all these guys should be blindly committing to ISU, sight unseen, without any conversations with coaches or on offers?

By rule these guys cant visit or discuss with outside coaches until the portal actually open, yes some do break that rule, most will only have a slight idea through second hand info and agents.

So thinking these guys are all going to visit all their perspective schools as well as meeting the coaches and working out any NIL deals in a day or two is ridiculous, and thinking any of them are going to commit sight unseen and without meeting anyone or discussing any deals is even more Ridiculous.

The process will accelerate as the days pass, but these guys just have to enter the portal in the 2 weeks timeframe, they dont have to commit during that time, they have a lot longer to commit, because well if you want to visit 10 different schools and meet people etc its going to take a lot longer than 2 weeks. Sure some will only visit a couple places etc but that still takes more than a day or two into the portal.

Patience , grasshopper

I liken it to an auction fantasy football draft. Everybody blows their draft money on the top guys early. At the end, there is always an owner that cleans up with great value guys as he is the only one that didn't overspend early and has lineup spots open.

Mid-January, hope we will see good value guys (bench guys at top power schools) commit to ISU.

Don't believe idiots like the "insiders" on here & 247. New coaching staff & no one has connections yet, so they are just chasing ghosts.

But if you want to curl into a fetal position in the corner of a room sucking your thumb, be my guest.

Caleb Bacon can F right off if he's saying he's "home" now.

Does he even understand all the ISU fans that supported him in SO many ways through his recovery from his horrible injury at ISU and loved everything he did here? But now he's "home"? F off Caleb. You can leave, that's fine, but you don't need to rub salt in the wound to all the people that supported you and loved you while you were in Ames.
Ok you gotta admit this is kinda funny

That would work if everyone had the same amount of auction money, but that’s not the case. Schools like PSU can overspend on top guys, and then still have more money at the end for the value guys.
