Is this one better?

One of my more important client's leave me to go to a bigger firm, am I going to cheer them on and stay in contact with them? No, I'll concentrate on my clients who want to do business with me.
Losing one of your important clients would directly impact your life, so not really. Maybe if you're Jamie Pollard I guess.

I'm an unabashed Campbell supporter. I get that rubs people on here the wrong way. What he did here in his 10 years is incredible. I've been around the AD department and can say with no doubt in my mind that any incoming staff will not be as competent and prepared as Campbells. There is no next level to take the program. He won us a Fiesta Bowl for God sakes. To sit on here and hype up the next coach is fine. Just understand the reality that something special walked out the door.

You’re acting like he got fired.

He left. He didn’t want to be here anymore because he wanted a bigger payday and more NIL. I can’t fault him for doing so, but dwelling on the past of a coach who chose to leave, well…Penn State has a forum I’m sure. You should probably just head that way.

Then you don’t know Campbell at all.

Also before 2speedy or others come after me, I’m all aboard the Rogers hire, and think he’ll have success here.

Do you really think the likelihood of him coming back to help ISU in any capacity like I mentioned is high?

I'm not saying he 100% won't, but I'm just wondering what makes you think he'll come back to ISU to fire up players, shoot a promo for the jumbotron intro, crank the siren, or get honored on the field when someone else is the head coach?

I know some people think something like a Matt Campbell statue at ISU is coming... it ain't.

I don’t know what you do for a living, but that would be insanely stupid to just cut the client off/burn bridges.

You should certainly try to maintain good terms with them so you can win their business back if it doesn’t work out at the bigger firm. That’s client relations 101

Maybe in when he comes back in 2045 for the 25th anniversary of the Fiesta Bowl win.

Thanks but my CPA business is doing just fine and I'll run my business how I see fit, but thanks for the input.

If Indiana can win a national title, then I don't think it would be "impossible" to do it at Iowa State. Obviously, it takes a ton of luck, favorable scheduling (which most teams have nowadays with the huge leagues), the perfect coach/admin combination, and some NIL fun money. I do believe the Iowa State program was on a trajectory to be in a consistent position (in this iteration of the Big 12) to compete for getting into the playoff. And in the right matchup, hell yeah we could win a playoff game. I have no doubt there was a confidence/cockiness/whatever from the old staff that they could do what Indiana is doing. I hope Jimmy feels the same way.

Indiana has significantly more resources than Iowa State. They are set up much better to succeed in the Big 10, regardless of their history.

They just needed a guy who could coach, and they got him.

Going to be confused flipping channels next Fall if the channel falls on a Penn State game. Will be the same offense, same coaches, same players I have been seeing. If they win, they playing Sweet Caroline?
Big donor stepped up and Sweet Caroline and Juicy Wiggle will not enter the portal. Hawks stepped up to make sure The Wave and In Heaven There is No Beer stay in Iowa City

They had every bit the culture problem we did.

They got a coach…but so do we!

I wonder what the odds of Matt Campbell still being at PSU in 2045 even are? He could be on like his 3rd team post-ISU by that point.

He'll be in his mid 60s by then. If he is still coaching at that time, no way he is coming back to Ames.

Somewhere around 0% probably

He doesn’t have the skill to last at PSU longer than five years. That fan base won’t tolerate the blatant in-game blunders and inevitable losses.

I'm not sure that some of you understand what an analogy is.

Hint: It's not going to match the situation perfectly. It is a comparison between two things with partial similarity.
