***Official portal tracker thread***

Like what? What is the bad blood? Genuinely curious.
All rumors at this point. You can scroll back through these threads and see. Two varities being thrown out there (both unsubstantiated):

Version #1 is that Campbell was poisoning the well and telling the kids he wasn't bringing to Penn State that they should be looking elsewhere.

Version #2 is that Campbell is salty because Rogers isn't taking care of the guys he left behind with bigger NIL deals.

Again, I'm not sure anybody has legit inside info to support either theory.

You (not specifically you) are married to an ugly woman and they divorce and leave you, then you remarry a hot woman and then they divorce and leave you. The end result is the same.

If you want to be a cuck because you were married to a hot woman who left you then that's your choice.
Well this is the dumbest metaphor I’ve ever heard. This is a job, not a marriage.

If you think we should be competing for national championships then your delusional. Only maybe 15 teams in college football can say they have the ceiling to accomplish that. That's crazy.
What if I told you the former coach that you are badly meat riding and trying to defend had the goal of winning a national championship here?

Does that change your tune?

All coaches say this. He went to a place where he would have the opportunity to actually do it. If you think Iowa State could win a national championship in football then I don't think you actually watch other terms or the sport in general.

Exactly.

Right now can anyone imagine Matt Campbell 20 years from now, coming back to give a pep talk to rally up the team (coached by someone else) before a big game and start the tornado siren in Jack Trice?

I could be wrong, but sure seems like Matt is GONE gone when it comes to Ames, IA & ISU.

Mac loves us, ISU, and wants nothing more than to be in Ames and around Cyclone football.

Maybe a day will come where Campbell would come back and get honored at Jack Trice, but he left voluntarily and I just don't see him volunteering to come back.

Then you don’t know Campbell at all.

Also before 2speedy or others come after me, I’m all aboard the Rogers hire, and think he’ll have success here.

Unpopular take:

If ISU were to blow a disproportionate chunk of its NIL budget to bring Brahmer back out of spite I’d be OK with it.
He's definite at Pedo State.
Figure Burkle is at Pedo State, too, although 247 website shows just Brahmer.

I'd rather we retain Cooper Alexander - would be in line as the starter - and add depth through the portal.

Yet it’s not stopping anyone from running with it including yourself.

Well, Indiana has changed this narrative. You absolutely can win a natty here. Not likely, but not improbable

If the choices are players are leaving because they don't like the new coach, or they were encouraged to leave by the old staff due to culture/money, I'm going to go ahead and choose to side with the people that now represent ISU over those that no longer have anything to do with ISU, and in fact appear to have decided to leave ISU at possibly one of the worst times they could exit, especially for a program that is and should remain a pariah for our lifetimes.

Or it’s not some big conspiracy that some are looking for.
