***Official portal tracker thread***

I’m trying to but the more I think about it the more it scares the **** out of me that 2/3 of the starters will be from WSU. Oof, not good.
The benefit of hiring a bunch of new staff and not just bringing everyone from WSU is we have ties to a lot of schools with players in the portal. Toledo, Auburn, Arkansas State, and Houston will all have (or already have) guys in the portal with connections to the staff. We'll have a chance to add from a lot of different places. Would expect mostly defenders from WSU and not a ton following on offense, other than guys that already followed him out there.

Holy **** we are going to be bad
The coaches know what they’re doing.
This isn’t their first rodeo. Unlike fans they probably knew who would be out there months ago as I’m sure agents are constantly reaching out.

It sucks as we lose guys we know and have trust in…but it’s not like we had the market cornered on top players under MC.

If you asked 49er fans 4 years ago how they’d feel about losing Trey Lance and having a guy named Brock Purdy as QB1 they’d have lost their ****!

‘We won’t win 5 games with…what’s his ******* name???? Brad Paisley?’

A ton of how good a FB team is lies in grit and determination…work ethic and attitude.

You think this man recruits quitters? Lol

You’re entitled to your own opinion. Dillon Gabriel is a forever Sooner. Started at UCF 2 years. Then Oklahoma for 3 years where he graduated. Finally he went to Oregon for his last season. Record breaking year finished as a Heisman finalist as a Duck. According to you he is a forever Sooner. Just think if he had won the Heisman. Forever Sooner wins Heisman would be your headline.
You keep coming up with crazy comparables. Haluska & now Dillon Gabriel.

Rocco spent 4 years at ISU. He got his undergrad degree at ISU. He led Iowa State to 26 wins. A 66% win/loss. How many players in Iowa State history won more games? Or two-thirds games played?

He did a ton of charitable stuff for Ames community. And his family were always great promoters of Iowa State.

I hope Rocco always views himself as a Cyclone first, even if he spends his last year elsewhere. I accept we are in a new era, where money comes into play. In all likelihood, Rocco will makes MILLIONS more at his next stop. And are you 100% sure leaving was entirely Rocco's decision? What if new staff wanted to go a different direction? Or not willing to pay Rocco same as CMC?

I watched the TJ Otzelberger interview with reporters from this morning. They were discussing players need to get away from basketball over Christmas holidays, needed a "reset". But he also said (paraphrasing), "easy to forget, it's (hoops) not who they are, but what they do".

Who is Rocco? For me, he'll always be a Cyclone. Hope to see him at Homecoming some day.

This is an elite level of cuckoldry.

The reality of this is that if Brahmer, Burkle, Hansen, Bacon, etc finish their FB careers at Penn State and are on the draft boards, the talking heads will be beaming with enthusiasm about all of them. And, if they have even an ounce of success like Purdy, those same players will be praised and NOT criticized. If Purdy was in Rocco's situation - i.e. left for Penn State - and then ended up doing what he has done in his NFL career, there is NO way that he would be criticized as much. The sports media control the narrative and it is best for them when the Blue Bloods turn out great products in the NFL. They hate success stories like Purdy's.
You are crazy if you think the Sports media hated Purdys success. The opposite is true, they got a ton of mileage out of the Mr Irrelevant storyline. It was one of the biggest stories in all the NFL.

I for one am looking forward to seeing more of Aiden Flora at RB. I think he could really flourish in that role.

How does one become an NIL agent for these players?
Well…first thing is you’ll need to abandon all your morals.

It helps to be a scumbag who has a 650 credit score and somehow involved in youth sports.

My understanding is anyone could be an agent…which led to a lot of issues as far as no real guarantee, deals changing, several teams thinking they got a kid that was being repped by multiple family and ‘advisors’

I’ll guarantee you the fight after KSU was because the brother had reached a deal with another team and dad shot it down to stay at KSU. After the L he probably told him ‘I told you we should have taken the money!’

My gut says it was TN

I’m assuming the new staff suggested to guys to consider all options including the portal and if ISU is the best fit, then they are welcome back?

Hard to believe the staff couldn’t retain at least 1/2 the team.

I would assume the opposite - if you're not committed to us, we are recruiting over you. They're not going to wait around.

Manske hurts
Do none of these players actually care about ISU man... growing up in Iowa I don't think I could ever leave ISU. I know they're in a tough situation and who knows what's going on behind the scenes but man...

I bet Blum is happy he's out of the NIL game now, It would be tough to get people to donate after this, at least for me I don't think I could stomach donating now that I've seen how little they seem to care about ISU, especially from the players from this state...

Literally was thinking the same. Pick em for SEMO, Iowa opens as 21.5 point favorites. This things going to get BAD
These guys fall into 1/2 categories

A. Want to play for MC at pedo state and probably getting big money to do it.

B. Kids that no longer fit our system under the new staff. *I’ll add we probably are cutting some guys that didn’t develop as well.

I don’t like either one of them happening.

But this isn’t just an ISU issue. This is happening everywhere, especially where there was a coaching change.

We’ll be just fine.
