***Official portal tracker thread***

There was a definite shock in the small circle close to the program that Mouser didn't get the job. Schaalhaese got the call as soon as Pollard caught wind of it. He's gonna be a NFL head coach in 3 years so that's a no go. CJR was second.
I personally don't like the direction Pollard is going and he's definitely heard similar frustrations from boosters and supporters.

Mouser was nothing but Wayne Morgan. Yeah he may have kept some guys, but in a couple years when all hs frat buddies weren't there to bail him out we'd see how unqualified he was at the current time.

The offense fit the framework that CMC wanted. I agree he was probably unqualified. I'd rather give him a year to figure things out and keep 90% of our starters. Jamie made the choice he thought was best and we'll see. Another big part of the frustration is Jamie's a lone wolf and moved fast. People who donate money to the program want to be tied in with decision making. Feathers were ruffled for sure.

The problem is they aren't decision makers, DONATING money doesn't mean you get to make management decisions.

Weakest hire of Campbell’s Ped St staff. That will be the critical theme for Happy Valley boosters when they realize the national championship drought will extend well into its fifth decade.

Yep, if Mouser were so qualified for the ISU job then he would have been hired by some other school by now.

I appreciate everything these guys did at ISU, but do not have to cheer for them at their new schools.

In fact, for the ones that go to PSU, I hope they get beat out and ride the bench. Or if Matt is going to play them no matter what, I hope they get beat team sucks and the fans turn on Matt and all the players he brought with him that aren’t up to their level.

Gotta believe there are a lot of existing Ped St players, who are not yet in the portal, are watching which Iowa St players are declaring. Vibe in the not so Happy Valley locker room— ‘These Iowa St coaches are going to play their guys, right?’

How many guys in the last 5 years have actually contributed at a P5 level after entering the portal?

Tyler Onyedim, Datrone Young, and Isheem Young are the only ones I could come up with. Isheem fizzled out rather quickly.

Could maybe argue Eli Sanders, Deshawn Hanika, or Tayvonn Kyle but other than that, ISU transfers go down a level or rarely see the field at their next stop.
This is different though; many will go on to have key roles at other schools.

He will have better recruiting classes than he ever had at ISU for sure, but from what I’ve seen and heard it won’t be packed with high end guys. He’s going to make his classes out of low 4 stars and high 3 stars. Kids that haven’t been told they are a superstar for the last 4 years of their lives. He’s only going to want kids he can control and who will buy into his “process” crap. Time will tell how that will work out for him. Not having Heacock could be a nail in the coffin no one saw coming and could potentially leave ISU in a better spot long term if he flames out.
They are Penn State, Campbell moved up a star recruiting just being at PSU. This thought that they are going to strong recruiting high character lower ranked kids is not going to happen. There are plenty of 4 and 5 star athletes that also have character and want to win. Look at the last two classes Franklin recruited they had around 40 four star recruits in them. This year may be a struggle because they are so late getting into the game, but next year that will not happen and they will be in the top 10 to 15 in their recruiting class.

First off, if you are going to wade into this arena understand that Yeshua's birthday is not December 25th. His birthday has actually been determined to be September 11th, 3 B.C. That may be more information than you care to know; however, as a Christian, it is my desire to correct this misconception concerning Christ's birthday.
December 25th was chosen as a way to pre-empt an ongoing Roman holiday...literally no connection to the date of Jesus actual birth. That said, birthdays are mostly symbolic events anyway...so the actual date isn't really the point.

This is exactly what you don't want, donors making the call. We don't need Jerry Jones level of incompetence in making decisions on players and coaches.

Wise advice. It can be especially hard to do with the guys you have seen grow up within the program. But I will view any returning players as a bonus.

Like somebody said - “ Moberly vs the world.”
Is there an 8 man division in college for teams that don't have enough players? . . . . . asking for a friend.
