if these guys come from Toledo, that school is going to hate us.

Remember that Candle took a different job also. Although I think we would be a step up from UCONN if we offered.
Toledo's co-DC took lateral to Syracuse, so that's also an option.

There was a definite shock in the small circle close to the program that Mouser didn't get the job. Schaalhaese got the call as soon as Pollard caught wind of it. He's gonna be a NFL head coach in 3 years so that's a no go. CJR was second.
I personally don't like the direction Pollard is going and he's definitely heard similar frustrations from boosters and supporters.

Mouser is grossly unqualified. The only way to convince everyone otherwise at this point would be to admit CMC was screwing up the offense, and not the OC. Which is contrary to years of propoganda.

Not a total fish-gutting like this. Yikes!

The funny thing is that he will probably fail at the next level, because he doesn't have the steel balls to make it IMO like a Saban or a Cignetti have to take advantage when they can. Franklin won a B1G Championship, and he made it to the semis of the CFP. My guess is that the new PSU coach will never do either of those things.

Either way, time for Iowa State to get the Jimmy Rogers train rolling!

Let's Go State!

He is absolutely going to win a national championship, and probably in year 3. If for no other reason than the ISU curse. Hell, Chizik lucked into one with Scam Newton.

Sorry…we tried that with Wayne Morgan.

Not interested in reliving that with FB.

The offense fit the framework that CMC wanted. I agree he was probably unqualified. I'd rather give him a year to figure things out and keep 90% of our starters. Jamie made the choice he thought was best and we'll see. Another big part of the frustration is Jamie's a lone wolf and moved fast. People who donate money to the program want to be tied in with decision making. Feathers were ruffled for sure.

Absolutely no guarantee that if Mouser got the job that 90% of starters stay. Most have options at Pedo St to at least double their bag. And most coaches were following CMC, you have to believe. But I do agree that more would have stayed.

Well, I guess said boosters and supporters should have written bigger checks when they had the chance…or more accurately I think it’s a welcome to reality situation for them. They’re not as wealthy as their counterparts in other corners of the country. Sucks to be them/sucks to be us.

But again, I really would rather not play this game. That’s what I got from Williams and Blum this weekend - we’re stuck and it definitely sucks to be us as fans. The players don’t care, because they got what they wanted. There is no amount of venting that is going to make Rocco or Jeremiah or Carson reflect and feel bad for spurning the fanbase that supported them.

But the system is for sure broken. If the LA Dodgers want to come after Bobby Witt and offer twice what the Royals are paying him…they can’t. They can trade for him or they can wait for his contract to end.

Considering that the vast majority of our transfer player's won't see an NFL dime, tho maybe some UFL chump change, I can't blame them for, "A few dollars more."
The kids that will HOPEFULLY stick around?
Lifetime Clone fans...from Iowa only.
I doubt that the vast majority of our out-of-state recruits ever heard of ISU, beyond an ESPN highlite reel or two.
Let’s not pretend like we’re talking about money that will help keep them off the streets. Rocco is likely to have earned enough money by the time he’s done playing college football to where I could easily teach him how to live off that money the rest of his life. That’s messed up…

Rocco would've left last season if his dad wasnt a millionaire. That's how the QB position works anymore.

Boohoo…if that’s the game they want to play, they should spend less time b*tchin to Jamie and more time making money and writing him checks.

Pretty sure, both Brock and Rocco come from "pretty decent" family wealth. Not "generational" but beyond comfortable.
Brock has deservedly so, on his own, created "generational wealth."

Rocco...not the next "Mr Irrelevant."

Kind of wish he had left now. If there is one position on the team that should bleed cardinal and gold, it’s the QB.

There won’t be a player we could lose that I’ll miss more than Hansen, but there won’t be one I’m more frustrated with than Rocco. As I said before, he should have rallied that team to play in the bowl game. He does that…and owns what he’s doing (have a press conference to say he did just that but feels it’s timed to move on), I don’t think I’d have a problem with it.
