Eh, I don’t even care at this point. Just let me know when the final list is available of who is staying and who’s going.

And that is no indictment on the program going forward. I’m looking forward to the new coaching staff and I’m optimistic about the future. But there are way too many other important things in life than worrying about where a bunch of 18 to 22-year-olds are going to play football.
Exactly. Anyone watching the A&M - Miami game?

Literally anyone who makes a play, commentators add “he’s a transfer from XYZ school.”

It’s happening to everyone and anyone. We’ve just been shielded from it with Campbell.

jontez is gone now too...if only campbell took him out when we were up 30 in terms fourth quarter
Yea…pedo state is in for some frustrating days.

That one and having Beacon covering kickoffs in a pre conference game we should win by 3 TD’s and ending his season.

Campbell was a very good coach here…but he wasn’t the end all be all. There were tons of things to be critical about that we let slide.

While I truly appreciate their contributions to Cyclone Football, and really do wish them the best, they can take their insincere "Cyclone for Life" BS and shove it.
Agree. Hard to criticize these kids (they are still kids) going through very difficult decisions. But they'd probably be better off just extending a heart felt thanks for the opportunity and for the support from the fan base, coaches, teammates, etc. I thought Jontez's message was great except for the "for life" part. Sometimes less is more.

But that assumes Jontez will have more affinity toward his next school. Who knows, he might have a stronger feeling toward Iowa State & his Cyclone teammates after his playing days are over. Heck I feel 10x more affinity toward Iowa State vs. graduate school attended.

Most of these guys aren't making decisions based on a "dislike" of their Iowa State experience. But a business decision--either financially, system fit or desiring a new sport/life experience.

It might not be a players choice. The staff might be targeting another player to start and willing to pay that player starting pay. The staff might be focusing on keeping/paying younger players to build for the future (aka pay Coffey vs. Williams or Manske vs. Rocco).

Also in the case of Williams, when is he expected back from his knee injury?

We could have had a solid team returning next season. Maybe even a contender. Now we have nothing. Our best players will be wearing Penn State and Hawkeye uniforms. I’m not in the optimistic camp. This feels like a return to the cellar.
Gloom, despair and agony...we all need to take a step back. Give the coaches a month or so to set things up. Then you can panic if you still feel this way.
