There are 10-11 prior roster players I'd love to retain who have not given any indication which way they are headed (announced staying or in the portal). Unsure if this is a good sign or bad. Early rumblings are visits being announced, so with this in mind I feel other players will be doing to same, so it is bad for the remaining not to have announced because they probably have visits lined up. I don't think we'll get much, if any, closure from today's happenings. More of the Pandora's Box will be completely opened (finally)

On the pre game yesterday they asked Saban how he would fix this entire thing, and he had a couple great ideas. First would be moving the transfer portal back to May, and then have spring practice right after the portal closes. That would allow the staff to know who they have coming back for next season, for spring practice and allow the kids that are transferring to get the school year in at the school they are at before jumping ship. Seems like a very easy fix to many of the problems we are currently having.

This. All the ******** about the calendar by coaches is caused by the coaches. They want the kids on for spring practice.

Just move the transfer portal back to May. I don’t think you need to move spring practice. It could reduce some transfer turnover with kids knowing they’ll miss spring practice if they choose to transfer.

Of course that also lends to a problem that you’d have kids potentially participating in spring who are planning to transfer, but that is less of a problem than what we have now imo.

I believe that. Raynor is a one year rental I think. Those are bourgeois goods at a place like ISU where we are trying to live a Cadillac lifestyle on a Chevrolet budget.

I saw a clip of Saben yesterday that made sense, for once, move the portal back to align with school calender, and make the spring practices to align with that, more like the nfl camps.
