***Official portal tracker thread***

Other forums.. 247 ones. Lots of good insight from posters whom have legit sources and can look at the Penn state info on that website too. The 3.5M to Rocco is legit. The $2M is more of an educated guess from Penn state people, but an Iowa stater said it was right.
They lost a 4 star Frosh with starting experience to pay 3.5 million for a one year rental. Whoever is their "general manager" botched that one. Rocco is a fine, experienced QB but he's not a guy you mortgage the future on for one year.

If schools are really paying backup QBs, who haven't shown a thing yet, $2 million... teams like ISU are in deep trouble.

So we basically can't even afford to pay a starting QB what Penn State can pay their backup. Maybe we should have offered Manske $2 million? But we really have no idea if he's even that good yet.

No way Manske is pulling $2 mil.

They're paying for guys who don't have to relearn the playbook or vernacular.

On the pre game yesterday they asked Saban how he would fix this entire thing, and he had a couple great ideas. First would be moving the transfer portal back to May, and then have spring practice right after the portal closes. That would allow the staff to know who they have coming back for next season, for spring practice and allow the kids that are transferring to get the school year in at the school they are at before jumping ship. Seems like a very easy fix to many of the problems we are currently having.

I mean... if he isn't getting it there... he was very likely to start for Kansas State, so the number to get him, is not outrageous, CJR told him that we are going to bring in others to compete for the job, and he bolted. So, if he thinks he can sit a year and then take over Penn State without competition so be it... I think it is telling he didn't want to risk not winning the job here.

Were we also offering him $2M to stay?

The Manske situation is super interesting. He either goes to Penn State to sit behind Rocco or he goes to Kansas State to potentially sit behind Avery. Or he takes a chance on a place that will guarantee him a starting position

Makes me think he wasn't wanted by Rogers and co.

He was probably wanted by Rogers but not at that kind of money which in the current situation is fair for everybody.
