Chip Kelly to OC at Northwestern. This will impact Iowa State because Lujan, their last OC, was pushed out for this to happen and Lujan was Rogers OC at SDSU. Some of Northwesterns best offensive players were from SDSU.

I’d take him but I’m guessing he can be OC elsewhere. Thought he did a fine job this year, seems more like Northwestern is selling their souls to the devil to have Chip Kelly

Likely no. Teams that use analysts are ones where the coach doesn't want to fire the OC of a struggling offense.

I'd rather we don't do that and spread it out as much as possible. We're not in a position to overpay.

Why should they have any loyalty if tons of fans hate them for leaving. It's a really bad look for the fan base. I'm not saying fans need to cheer for them, but bad mouthing them on the way out is a really bad look.

If any recruits or families read this board, why would they want to come to Iowa State. Sure the fans are passionate but as soon as you do something else, we'll spit all over them on their way out.

It's hopefully just message board minority, but unfortunately the message board minority is what everyone can see. It's pathetic.

I know people will get their panties in a bunch over this, but our success as a P4 football program has very little to do with whether or not we see incremental recruiting gains in NW Iowa

We had guys from Iowa leave the team after Campbell left. While it is very fun to get local kids I really don't care at this point. Niang is considered one of the best of all time and he is from Massachusetts. Just field a good team.

Kids do have to enter the portal to get their offers. We need to chill and wait. Even with Campbell we were taking FBS and G5 guys along with some FCS players with strong work ethic. Rogers has some great assistants.

Agreed! With Pedo State's new HC, we had starters or at least major contributors come from Yale, Princeton, and Lindenwood the past couple of years alone. Not exactly the hotbed of college football.

I didn't say that. What I'm saying is don't buy a billboard in Chicago detailing only the lost players. I saw one post of an added player despite already having gotten 4, but I've seen every post of every departing player, along with headlines the likes of "Iowa State loses another". If you think that's good for the school, then I pity your common sense.

Another place to look is Northwestern's offensive roster. They just jettisoned their OC who was at SDSU with Rogers so there could potentially be some familiarity for some of them.

I'm pretty sure he donates to ISU, but not to the level that would be game changing. I'm also pretty sure his son-in-law is a pretty big ISU fan. They routinely name some of their race horses with some sort of ISU theme. My favorite is below....

This isn't directed specifically at you but to add to the point of Clone52...it's not about stroking an ex Clone ego, nor being happy they left, playing nice so to speak etc...but holding ourselves, as Cyclones fans to a different level of Fandom-we don't act that way because we are Cyclones Fans. I just listened to TJ's opening statement after the game last night...That's a high consistent standard; one we should challenge ourselves in any situation to attain.

They don't put someone's name on a building/plaza without them being a serious donor. Is he giving millions a year? Probably not, but he is a big donor to ISU.
