Why did you cut his TDs by 4? I’m not totally sold on him but I’m not going to make his stats look worse.106th ranked qb ranking. 15 td 11 interceptions. Not good
Sounds like maybe we should bring in his backup instead? I’m sure our new QB coach will have a good idea who we should go afterI'm not saying Raynor is a can't miss prospect but we could do a lot worse. 3700/26 total yards/touchdowns is nothing to scoff at. Like you said he will need to clean up the INTs but any transfer we will go after will need some refinement. A senior with something to prove, I like this guy enough to come in a compete.
I think we cleared up any doubt the players have been using AI on their exit notes....
Just my opinion here. If Raynor comes here for cheap thats great. However, there are too many holes to fill at this point and if he's asking for 1+ mil, that money can be best spent adding depth to the team.
I don't think anyone is obsessed. Just something to talk about while we wait.We should have our sights set higher. Numbers wise he was worse than Becht with shittier competition and Becht was not a quality Big 12 quarterback this year.
I don't follow the obsession with Raynor.
I would rather spend the extra money on decent lineman that can create a run game. That usually can hide several QB deficiencies.Honestly I hope the new coaches are smarter than spending that kind of money on 1 guy. If they demand that much they are just looking for the bag so move on, we don't need them.
Agree, if you just look at him vs Rocco, it's 6 of one, half dozen of the other. Now, Raynor won't have all the pieces Rocco would have had next year if you just swapped them out clearly. But I don't see a big difference really overall.I'm not saying Raynor is a can't miss prospect but we could do a lot worse. 3700/26 total yards/touchdowns is nothing to scoff at. Like you said he will need to clean up the INTs but any transfer we will go after will need some refinement. A senior with something to prove, I like this guy enough to come in a compete.
Agree. More interested to see if we have any chance yet with Neal and Buhr.I think Raynor could be pretty effective in Rogers' offense if he indeed wants to run it the majority of the time. But don't think we should overspend on him.
Totally agree. Offensive and defensive line play is the backbone of a team.I would rather spend the extra money on decent lineman that can create a run game. That usually can hide several QB deficiencies.
This is 1000% the correct answer. OL and DL is where you start when building a team... period.I would rather spend the extra money on decent lineman that can create a run game. That usually can hide several QB deficiencies.
If Raynor has a good relationship with our new QB coach & the new staff could make the #'s work, it would be beneficial to bring him on board. No clue if his OL at AR State was good or porous, but if he's simply looking for the largest bag, then we be out as he already has more suitors willing to pay more. 66.5% completion & the rushing threat are definite positives. INTs came in bunches & it is not like he could not improve, either.BTW, of Raynor's 11 INTs, 2 were against Arkansas and 4 against So. Miss. There were six (of 13) games that he did not throw a pick. Southern Miss ranked #1 in the FBS in INTs this year. I'm not defending him, just throwing out some nerdy fun facts. We could use an experienced QB so I wouldn't mind bringing him in.
