You could very well be right.
But RGIII and MV were two QBs who relied on skills more than learn the game. LJ reads defenses.
Mike Vick was also a player that was forced to rely on his skills. While his Falcons teams were talented, they were also flawed, and Vick making a play was a result of him trying not to get sacked more often than not. Add to that the fact the time Vick should have been evolving his game as his skills diminished was also the time he was exiled from the league for the dogfighting ring.
RGIII, on the other hand, blew his knee(s) out early in his career, so it was over before it really began.
Lamar Jackson’s future is going to depend on a number of things - can he stay out of trouble, can he stay healthy, does his game evolve as his athleticism eventually wanes, and do the Ravens build the offense around him not just with the now in mind, but with the future Lamar that can’t rely on his legs to save the team like he’s doing now. Lamar Jackson is a freak, but we won’t have this Lamar Jackson forever.
But that's the point.. he's going to get injured running that much. And teams will find a way to stop him from running. Just like they have with literally every other running QB ever. He's got to evolve his game if he wants to stay at the top. I don't see him doing that more than maybe next year at the most.
Vikings win the first half, that's what really matters
With the game on the line the Vikings break out the patented prevent offense. Giving the Saints far too many opportunities.
They started playing not to lose all 4th quarter. Look where it got them. The Vikings are probably taking the approach of "we'll settle for OT", which will get the Vikings killed.
I agree with Zimmer. I think you gotta start giving kickers delays of game when they still kick it 5 seconds after the whistle is blown. Although, that wasn’t a very loud whistle.
And won the third quarter. One to go.
