***Official NU@ISU Post Game Thread***

We may just agree to disagree. Mac has played zone and ran the 3/4 court trap at various times this year. Anderson switches things up but his system is essentially always the same-uptempo chaos.

I haven't seen KU run the T-2 yet this year (doesn't mean he hasn't) but that requires a pretty specific opponent. Usually a team with two dynamic guards that are lacking on the inside a little bit. Who did KU run that against?

Anderson and Self however will garner the praise that you have given because they have been pretty successful. That is a big difference between them and Mac.

I understand that you have to sit here and say this.

The problem with what you have said is that you haven't addressed the problems. The "system" is not the problem. The fact that they change the message of the program every year is the problem.

And when you run all of these set offenses, you are easier to scout. The reliance on the 3, and the constant yelling at the players to get to certain spots, is pretty easy to take away. Especially when you are facing as many athletic teams as we do in the Big 12.

Add the fact that we have so many one dimensional players, and it's even easier to stop anything we do. Look back at the Cal game. We were full strength, with all of the players. Mike Montgomery put a 5'9" guy on Lucca, and rendered him useless. Just follow him around, and get up on him when he looks to shoot. An example of the adjustments that you allude to would be clearing out the block for him, and having him catch the ball, turn, and shoot over him.

But being one dimensional, and not coaching him up to be able to do simple things like post up a smaller player, took away a key part of your offense.

Quoted for truth.

That has been a major contention of mine. There is no identity at Iowa State. There is no foundation to fall back on when things go wrong during the game.

Look at K State, they are going to be physical, play tough d, and rebound. Missouri has their press, and they want to force tempo. Okie State wants to press, spread the floor and create open looks with dribble penetration.

All of the coaches in the Big 12 have placed an identity on their program. Greg has not.

It's another reason that when the other team goes on a run, we have a hard time stopping them. Nothing to fall back on.

That is the point that I believe also. Where do we excel? In what areas?

Under McD, we have never been very good at really anything at all. How is that even possible in 4 years?

What's that supposed to mean?

Did you miss the post where I said I agreed with Snowcraig?
