i would like to see ISU come out and press right out of the gate to try to force some early turnovers and get some easy points. They also need to rebound better than they have all year. I have noticed ISU tends to get caught watching on rebounds instead of actually finding a body to block out. That needs to change if they are going to win tonight. Other thing that needs to happen, is they need to be hot from 3.
Hoping to Monte really attack the paint and be agreesive like the final 11 min of the TT game backing up his Pre-POY hype. I like the idea of 3/4 press being used more against Baylor Babb potentially starting is intriguing also. Burton reaction to his critics after some lackluster games is a wild card. Should be a fun game.

This would be a great night for this squad to put together two good halves for the first time this season. Motley owns us, I don't expect to stop him but hold the others in check, score 70+ and we can win.
Need big games out of Jackson and Babb off the bench. Hit some shots guys and pressure them! Go Cyclones!
Their PG, Lecomte, is pretty good, an upgrade from last year. Acuil is a 7 foot shot blocking master and Freeman is their SG who is shooting 44% from 3.
Let's see if we go 0-6 vs. KU, WVU, and Baylor this year like the majority here want us to.
I didn't think Lecomte was anything special at Miami, so I'm intererested to see how he looks after the redshirt year. He definitely is putting up good numbers.
In the little I've seen of Baylor, they just seem so well put-together as team. They have their offensive stud big guy, their defensive stud big guy, two decent perimeter scorers, and two fantastic glue guys in Wainright and Lindsey who do it all.

I am in no way saying Baylor isn't good. They are very good and they have a helluva great resume so far...probably the most impressive in the country. However...they also played Oregon without Brooks, Michigan State without a big leading scorer, and were down by 20 against Louisville before storming back. But they DID win those games so they obviously know what it takes.
I just choose the (maybe stupid) optimistic route in thinking we are two buckets from being a one-loss team and likely top 15 against a yes #2 team on the road but one that has a few games that were boosted by the opposing team not at full strength.
We could get drilled tonight, absolutely. I just don't see it happening. I expect a close game and Baylor wins by 8.

The Baylor, and WVU games we had terrible disadvantages handed to us by the referees last year. I hope that is better this year. I think it will be hard at Baylor to beat the refs and the basketball players. I expect a loss.
I will be able to tell you in our first offensive possession whether or not we will win....If we have 5 guys moving AND at least 4 guys crash the offensive glass (even if you don't get the board, you are in position to slow down the Baylor outlet pass), we have a chance. If 3 or 4 guys have their tennis shoes nailed to the floor during the possession, then, 3 guys 'retreat' to the defensive end when the shot goes up, we are dead meat.
The issue I have with just reading their play to begin the game is this ISU team has started almost all the games slow and picks it up after settling in. I expect the first few possession on the road in a half full Waco gym to be rough. As long as they are able to get into a grove before the 10 min mark it should be a game assuming they didn't dig too deep of a hole.
Key will be the pressure defense, creating turnovers/collecting long rebounds resulting in the guards getting out and running in the open court off of those.
We do have a tough team to figure out, but anything can happen tonight. I feel a win coming! Go Clones!
