ESPYs off, Taken on. perhaps I can reclaim my evening.

**** the ESPY's. We don't need their stinkin award to validate our accomplishment anyway. We all know what we did.

Right. It would have been nice to have won it, but no one is going to lose sleep over the fact that we're coming home empty handed.

Going into it I was least concerned about hockey, but as another poster put it, A LOT of folks in LA...

I also agree I like this as more of a one game upset, not series/playoffs like they portrayed the Kings. Oh well, the guys probably had a great time out there.

I was most concerned about hockey. I knew since there were two 15-2 upsets nominated, that vote would be split.
There are more football fans than hockey fans. But there are more hockey fans than you think. Throw in the fact that it was for the Stanley Cup and we were screwed. Most people probably dont connect the fact that we changed college football with our upset.

So...If Troy Davis goes for 2 grand, but doesnt win the heisman; and Seneca is ruled out inches before the goal line vs Florida State...it makes sense that now we lose out on an award to a hockey team.

They were preseason favorites too who just sucked during the first part of the year. Give them an award for being regular season underachievers but an ESPY for best upset? They don't even qualify. They smoked everyone in the playoffs...that's not an upset.

I agree that ISU should have won, but the Kings were an 8 seed and they beat the #1, #2, and #3 teams in the western playoffs and easily beat the eastern champs. To top it off, they only lost four games in the entire playoffs. If ISU can't win, the Kigs are certainly a deserving option.

It was fan voted, can't blame anyone for this one because we flat out didn't have enough recognition nationally to win this one. The Stanley Cup was pretty recent too which helped

I voted for ISU, but the Stanley cup is the hardest trophy to win in all of sports and in the history of the cup ( and we are talking a lot of history) no 8th seed has ever won the cup , they set a record for most consecutive road play off victories.. It was a pretty amazing accomplishment.

That said most people have already forgotten who won the award.

This has been a pretty fun meltdown to read.

I'd lie if I said I wasn't at least a little disappointed. I honestly didn't even think it would be close, maybe my Cardinal glasses had something to do with that. Oh well.
