****Official Class of 2016 Recruiting Thread****

Short updates on Maker and Moore.

Thon Maker, Scout’s No. 5 recruit in the 2016 class, won’t be making a college choice during the early signing period, his guardian Ed Smith told Scout. Smith also told Scout late Sunday evening that Arizona State, Indiana and Notre Dame were the schools pursuing Maker the hardest. He mentioned that Kentucky and Oregon were on the “peripheryâ€￾.

Charlie Moore -- is working towards his college choice and is expected to come to a decision during the early signing period, Chicago (Ill.) Morgan coach Nick Irvin told Scout. Moore has taken official visits to California, VCU and Memphis. Iowa State has also been actively recruiting the 5-foot-11 lead guard. Moore, who runs with the Mac Irvin Fire, was one of the biggest risers coming out of the July evaluation period.

So Maker is a pipe dream (imo, was all along), and Moore needs to come on an official soon, if Iowa St has a decent shot. Early signing period is coming up, and I'm not sure how long it is, but if Moore is gunna sign early, then time is an issue.

Unless things have changed very recently we aren't recruiting Moore at all.

Why would we not be interested in Moore? Is this a case of some shady handling? Mac Irvin Fire definitely not the cleanest AAU program although it seemed Norvell's recruitment was very professional. Moore is a legitimate Top 75 talent at a position of need. We really have to land a stud 2017 PG.

I know Iowa backed off Moore for some reason. Maybe we learned something that we didn't like but from what I understand we aren't recruiting him. Since he's similar, and probably better than Simpson, the fact that we aren't recruiting him (if true) certainly raises my eyebrow. If it turns out that we do want him I'm certainly on board with it.

Cuz some people with inside knowledge said so.

I thought it was Moore who backed off from Iowa

I just remember that program from when we recruited Josh Cunningham. No evidence, but that recruitment felt handled and dirty all along.

Not sure if this has been posted regarding Kostas

potential... oozing with it... highest upsides around... long, explosive athlete who’s still only scratching the surface of how good he can be... the high upside senior... The younger brother of Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The only words missing are NBA pedigree.

Mac Irvin Fire is one of the most respected AAU programs in probably the nation if not than definitely the midwest. Maybe something has changed since Mac's death but I know they were well run while he was there, if there was anything shady I'd assume it is more on the player-to-player level not the program as a whole.

As for Moore, It is interesting that people are backing off, but we can only speculate.

Not from what I heard.

Sure, maybe something wasn't square but you also got remember that in the history of the internet anybody that Iowa recruits and doesn't go their way is being payed.

All other programs and players are dirty.
