***Official Bracketology Thread***

Thought a continuous thread on the subject would be a good idea. Lunardi has us as an 8 seed currently facing Pitt. The winner gets the Number 1 seed Gonzaga. I would love to have a shot at them again!

I'd really rather not. I think we could beat them, but the physical mismatch makes it more difficult than some other options (though, when you play a #1 seed, most of them have a closet full of talented bigs).

If ISU gets an 8 seed things will have gone very well over the next 8 weeks, and I'd be very excited about it.

I know it's not the 'elite' status that some think of for ISU but getting a bid is great in general and anything goes from there.

If we have a record that gets us in, I will feel extremely happy for the seniors.

As a fan, I partly think toppling from the rankings and a somewhat high-seed profile has lifted the "weight" of expectation a little ... it was a bummer to see it slide, but after adjusting to the reality, we can hope for a climb back. Even if it happened to hit a plateau, we wouldn't be sweating a bid.

Long way to go, either way.

Lunardi's bracket looks reasonable to me, at-large and seedings.

Seems like he didn't spend quite as much time in the one-bid-league sub-12 area, but you can't really wring hands over it this early.

6 in for the BIG12 right now, 2 in the first 6 out. If the Big 12 could put 8 in the dance, that would be a huge over-achievement, on what was supposed to be a down year.

Presesason projection consensus seemed to be 5 bids. I still think it'll settle at no more than 6 — the lower-third, whoever that may include, will eat each other's tails.

Idk, I see TCU, TTU, and KSU all competing for 2 spots, which would push it to 3. I guess it does matter how the conference plays out, but all will be right there in the end, barring any unforeseen complete collapse.

For the Big 12 to get to 7 bids, the bottom of the conference will have to go into a tailspin and not take as many wins away from the top 7. OU is clearly a contender for that. The next two candidates would have to be Texas and TCU, but I think Texas has enough talent that they'll get it together at some point, and TCU keeps getting just a little better every year.

Going back to Orlando. Would like to watch ISU-Wichita St. play a tourney game.

Possible game against Creighton in Sweet 16 in Kansas City.

This particular scenario with both FL and FSU slotted in Orlando is less than ideal from a ticket standpoint. You would literally have a home crowd in both sessions so the secondary market is going to be really high.
