***OFFICIAL BIG 12 EXPANSION THREAD 2.0***

Odd, but Orangebloods has been ominously quiet on all of this and he was the one who originally broke all of the stories.

I do however think this league needs a championship game again. Just not sure who would be worth adding at this point that would actually leave. It would have to be the former big east/AAC

The two schools being added would each need to bring in approximately $25M/yr of value to the networks paying for expansion or approximately $500M total over the next 10 years. The likes of UCF, Cincy, USF, etc. don't come anywhere close to bringing in that type of value. Plus, they're commuter schools.

No one wants Cincinnati, why the **** would we take them? And we don't need to spread out more by going to Florida UNLESS it is FSU.

Adding a championship game brings in a lot of money, more fan interest, more national stage, and more points for as national championship run.

To break even will not require a Notre Dame or a Florida State. To lower expectations, that would not happen anyway.

Imagine that getting out of a GoR (B1G has one, right?) would be the stumbling block. Did enjoy reading Mad Chatter: Snubbing Urban, underrated Creighton, more Big 12/Big Ten feedback | sports.omaha.com (comments about kNu in the B1G at the end.) Similar to what I've heard from Husker friends.

I like the reply to that tweet. A three-league trade...Missouri to Big10, WV to SEC and NU to Big12...that would be cool! But it would never happen...would it? How could NU leave with all that money that is heading the Big10's way next negotiation right?

Finally, our last installment of Big Ten buyers’ remorse. The question — Would Nebraska be better off in the Big 12 right now? — has stirred strong opinions the past week. If I had to summarize fans’ take, it would be this: NU made the right decision based on the information in 2010. But it hasn’t worked out as well as expected.

I hate Nebraska as much as anyone...but I would trade WV for them in a heartbeat! I am not sure I believe anyone would get more excited for a visit from WV rather than NU. It is a shame things came to the point that NU had to take the Big10 offer...they belong in the same conference with us, KU, KSU and OU!

I can't say I'm surprised. As soon as the Pac-12 doomsday deal fell through, you have to think that Nebraska fans realized they'd gotten screwed by a panic move.

And I would absolutely welcome them (and Mizzou) back with open arms regardless of the bad blood from their defections. It really sucks to have Iowa State be this isolated outpost in the conference, a feeling I'm sure both of those schools also now understand.

This musical chairs **** is getting real old, and honestly I do not like our conference with the additions of tcu and wv. Nebraska should've never left same with mizzwho. Whatever though huh?

And besides, why on earth would we go after UCF before USF? I prefer neither

UCF is a better add than USF. Program is currently better, and they actually have their own on-campus stadium, which they regularly fill, and I believe they're the largest school in Florida.

I don't think they bring enough to the table to warrant being added, but of the current Florida schools not in a power conference, they're the best one.

I think they're second highest enrollment in the COUNTRY. Not sure who is #1, or if they have a big web-based enrollment that would factor into that.

Agree. I enjoyed reading that column about Big 10 remorse...wonder if they only chose responders that were anti-Big10 or if the feelings are that strong regretting the move throughout their fanbase?

Flights and hotels are available to each destination from Iowa rather easily (although costly)...but the distance between Ames and either site just sucks to think about! Same with WVU! But we already know that geography doesn't play a role in terms of conference affiliation any longer...at least in terms of convenience to fans!
