I wouldn't rule out Missouri in all of this. The perception around here is that Missouri would leave the SEC in a heartbeat for the Big10...now it looks like they may get their chance.

There was also some discussion last week that Mizzou could come back to the Big 12, not that I bought that for a second... SEC has no buyout, so they could take their services anywhere.

I wonder why Delaney thinks that further dlluting the conference with two mediocre (at best) programs will somehow create TV interest in NYC and the DC area (two cities that even now do not care about college football). Those people are hung up on a paradigm from the 1950s (much like most Big 10 offenses and coaching staffs).

I hope we do not see a reactionary push to expand the Big 12 just for the sake of expansion.

I hope that Pac likes Bosie State. I also here Kaplan University is available. :jiggy:

PAC is screwed. I can see them going Big East style, and going with a block of four on the east coast. Syracuse, Uconn, BC, Pitt

If it is between that and Boise, BYU, New Mexico and UNLV. Not sure which makes more sense.

Could also see them try to come after KU in the second scenario.

If you had to guess, would you say they: A) try poaching Big 12 teams, B) add MWC/WAC teams and/or BYU, C) hold pat at 12, or D) something else?

They'll stay at 12 because the people running that conference are not stupid or posters/bloggers throwing **** at the wall to see if it sticks.

**** this ****, honestly. In what universe is $24 mil a year along with ticket sales and donations not enough to fund an AD? I still hope in 5-6 years everyone realizes 14-16 team leagues aren't stable and we get back to 10-12 team conferences built around history and geographic proximity to each other

Pac 12 is far from screwed, and there is no way in hell the go to the East Coast. They can stay at 12 and be just fine.

If we're headed to the 16 team conference model they have to do something. I can't think of 4 teams worth adding without poaching the Big 12 at this point.

Therefore, I'd guess C) hold pat at 12

If this is true, then what's the PAC going to do?

That's a good question, geography wise their expansion options are extremely limited, however it also protects them from being raided by other conferences. BYU is an obvious target, otherwise a four team pod of eastern schools?

The B10 and SEC will be at 16 with those schools coming from the ACC, I think the B12 will be proactive enough this time around to strike first and be in competition with the SEC for the football "powers" in the ACC.

Yeah, I don't think Rutgers is a slam dunk. I am sure the Big Ten is looking for a more lucrative team. Mizzou, UNC, Ga Tech all possibilities IMO

If the Big 12 is going to participate in realignment this time, I think we should at least TRY to really swing for the fences. I'm not even talking FSU/Clemson. What would we have to lose by going for broke on some teams within/close to our footprint? Try and talk Nebraska and Mizzou into taking the walk of shame back to the conference they belong in. Extend an invite to a down Arkansas program. Put together an offer to bring a Louisville/Kentucky combo to the conference. Just for the hell of it put out feelers to Pittsburgh and Iowa so every team in the conference has an in-state/regional conference rival. If we're going to do re-alignment, let's make it fun again!

If this is true, then what's the PAC going to do?

Probably come after Texas and Oklahoma again. Larry Scott was so close he could taste it. If there is anybody who could find a way out of the Big 12 GOR, it would be Larry Scott, David Boren, and Deloss Dodds...

By Screwed, I meant limited options. I think UT and OU are off the table at this point. They cannot stay at 12 if there are 3 other conferences at 16. They immediately go to the bottom of the totem pole and leave themselves vulnerable to getting left out of a playoff some years. Fans and Media will push them to go to 16 in one way or another
