***Official 2026 World Cup Thread***

It’s always really interesting who steps up to the spot. Australia’s midfielders and attackers are cowards

Those are my favorites. So ballsy to tap it in right where they’re standing.
It seems like the South American teams do that more often than others for some reason. As much as I love it when it works, I love it more when the keeper stands his ground and stops one and smiles at the taker.

World cup has been spectacular so far. I watch it every day. Speaking of which, hopefully other sports and TV networks can learn from fox making so many games available to everyone cable or not. Ratings have been great from what I understand.

Well, the Aussie goalie was doing a lot of cheating and guessing, and was leaving especially early. If they're going to cheat that much, if the taker can sell the direction they're going to cheat, where they were standing is going to be wide open... and as I said, the Aussie goalie was cheating a lot.

Sounds like NBC wants to try to get English language rights to the next one to go along with Spanish language rights on Telemundo.

I love how they haven’t shown any slow motion overhead replays where they show positioning for offsides. Rob Stone completely cut them off when they started talking about the pass.

I just hope that this is finally what gives soccer momentum in this country. While the MLS doesn’t have some of the name brand stars that the EPL has, it has great competitive games. For those of us that don’t get baseball, it would be the perfect summer sports fix. Big question is how the schedule shift starting next year will affect its popularity when competing more with football.
