House keeping a nice 76F. Humidity is a bit high, trying to get it below 50%. I don’t know of the “outside” place you people are speaking of.
Walked out the door this morning at 6am in chicago burbs, and it's already "punch you in the face" humid.
Saw some posts with readings in St Louis area of 124 to 140 "feels like". The one was 103 degrees with almost 86 degree dew point.

At 7:19am in Ankeny the heat index is 90 already. It's gonna be another brutal day. Gonna go sprinkle some holy water on my AC unit.
Yup. Got up and found all of my house windows are fogged up with dew on the outside. Dew point hit 81°. Ack.
Anybody know much about sump pumps? I bought a new house which has a submersible one. However, it's dead so I need to replace it when I take possession of the house in a few weeks. Fortunately, the house is about 20 years old and has never had any water issues, so it's not an urgent situation.
I've never seen a sump pump like this one. It does not have a discharge pipe that runs upward out of the sump pit. Instead, the discharge pipe runs up about a foot from the pump and then runs horizontal through an opening in the side of the sump pit. I'm guessing it must drain directly into Ankeny's storm drain system?
Anyway, I'm wondering if I need to put a check valve in the discharge pipe since it does not run vertical like a typical discharge pipe.

I turned on the Cardinals game yesterday afternoon. Game time temp was 97 with a heat index of 119.
Acres of empty seats. I mean, it was the Reds and the Cardinals, not exactly a battle of midseason titans, but even Cardinals fans were smart enough to not go out and bake under the sun at Busch.
Look in the bright side! This is coldest summer for the rest of our lives!
Changing tires and getting hog repairs done. Youngest is doing construction. It’s warm but if you work outside daily, you learn to deal with it. Drink water and pace yourself and know metal will be hot
I'd happily respond to you on that post but youd run to cry to the mods about it being "political" to discuss actual science like you always do. So dumb button for dumb post it is.
