Felt like I was going to die last night. If I had to mow today, I just wouldn't.
They'd normally be doing 1 break per half (every 20 minutes) at girls state soccer at Lied, but it looks like today is 3 per half (every 10 minutes, give or take).
Not sure recent data really bears that out. Last two years Iowa has had bumper crops with above normal summer precip.
Planning to go out after work around 4, nice knowin you fools!
It's really difficult not to reply with a @CoachHines3 mom joke, especially when you lob it over the plate like that.
I’m not saying it needs to shut off, but Story counties average yield over the last 4 years was lowest in 2025, which is the year with the most rain. 2024 started out wet, but that slowed way down into June.
2023 half the state was in severe or extreme Drought during pollination time. That’s too dry

Well I think we want June monsoon then we want it to stop which is what these El Ninos seem to do. Not sure we are in a transition year so whats the rumours I wonder. May was dry dry dry, now out of no where it seems monsoony. Seems like thats how it was last El Nino.

Golfed 18 this afternoon. Really not too bad with the breeze, but sucked when we caught up to traffic in an area that was shielded from the wind.
Typical summer golf in Iowa. They shouldn't let groups slower than mine even play. I would play so much better.

Our league matches usually take 2 1/2 hours for 9 holes. It's painful. Yesterday, our opponent couldn't be there, so we snagged a tee time before the first group and played that 9 in a little over an hour, then played the other side 6-10, then 2-5. We got really lucky catching gaps, and didn't run into traffic until hole 4. So we played 18 in about 3 hours, but the last two holes took a half hour of that.Typical summer golf in Iowa. Need rain to build up moisture for July heat. Short for the year here.
Rain will be moving into Des Moines area around 10am. So much for that. At least that's according to Channel 13 future radar.

You guys that need rain come pump some water out of my upper pond. We've had so much rain already it's over flowing and I don't see that stopping anytime soon. It's so bad it created a waterfall and a mud pit that I got the mower stuck in.
