I always like to add the caveat to look at the cameras. The DOT is notoriously slow in showing improvements or what I feel is accurate conditions on these maps.View attachment 167941
Pink is completely covered roadways
Yeah and if a road/hwy has an active plow on it, they are usually passable. Might be slower then usual but you'll get there.I always like to add the caveat to look at the cameras. The DOT is notoriously slow in showing improvements or what I feel is accurate conditions on these maps.
Am I being ignorant in asking how shoveling snow regardless of wet/compactness would lead to a heart attack?? Do people not workout or get bloodwork? If you're shoveling, PLEASE be careful. This snow is wicked heavy on the bottom. Not worth having a heart attack.
Have you seen America? Have you seen men in general?Am I being ignorant in asking how shoveling snow regardless of wet/compactness would lead to a heart attack?? Do people not workout or get bloodwork?
Fair shout but if you are having a heart attack shoveling snow then that was a ticking time bomb in general lolHave you seen America? Have you seen men in general?
I've lived at our residence for around 30 years. I have never had as much snow at the end of our driveway as I had this morning. The plow went by at least four times. We could have had more snow in our driveway but the plow operator kept 3'-4' away from the curb gutter. I am wore out from cleaning three driveways with a snowblower.Adding another report of 9-10” in Ames. Shoveled last night about 10:30 and we had about 5-6” on the driveway but the bottom inch was wet. Back deck had 6.5” last night with no melting. Another 3” on the driveway this morning.
I’m probably the outlier but I love these snows that are sneakier rather than the ones that get hyped weeks out. Maybe I’ll have a chance to go cross country skiing again before spring.

A heavy wet snow like much of last night require more lifting and scooping of the snow than a lighter snow you can just push with the shovel. A lot of older people do not get much exercise. How many people over 50 do you see in the gym?Fair shout but if you are having a heart attack shoveling snow then that was a ticking time bomb in general lol

That says we got 1-2 inches of snow and there is nothing out there.
Oh noThat says we got 1-2 inches of snow and there is nothing out there.
I paid 2 kids $70. to shovel my 2 car drive that is about 20 yards long. I normally give them $40 but with this wet heavy stuff I gave them more. Totally worth the money. Dont have to worry about my back or heart attack. If you're shoveling, PLEASE be careful. This snow is wicked heavy on the bottom. Not worth having a heart attack.

I would guess that your lawn was uphill, both ways too?I have shoveled snow and mowed grass for nearly 60 years ... Dad had me mowing when my hands were well above my head to push the mower. We are moving off of acreage with an extended driveway. Have had 2 big snows in the St. Louis area this winter. Very unusual. I'm done. Heading to a townhouse with full outside maintenance. Guess it's a right of passage.
