**** Official 2026 MBB Spring Transfer Portal Thread ****

Clearly this is the kiss of death. Obviously the same player in every way. The similarities are striking! ;)
I'm just trying to manifest this kid being more like Mulder (love the guy, great effort guy, seems like a nice fella, lots of fouls, good for minimal mins in blowouts) than he is like Keshon

I hate to break it to you, but if he's only avg 6 and 4 playing in a G5 league, he won't avg much more, if at all, playing in the best conference in america. In 2 games (19 total mins) vs P5 teams this year - Nebraska and Miss State - he scored a total of 6 points and grabbed 3 rebounds. "positively develop" is a very kind thing to say about him and theres a strong chance, he just isnt good - but looked good on his HS film because he was 7'1 245 in HS, playing against weak competition in SD
I'm guessing he will continue to develop positively. I'm not holding my breath for him to be all Big 12 or anything.

I really like @CycloneVet response as well, even if Rock does pan out for K State, it's hard to justify keeping him around if he wasn't going to really produce much for the first few years and eat up rev share dollars. Better for Rock personally to move on and get good pt elsewhere for his development as well. Both parties likely benefited, it's just going to bite a little bit if he turns into a steady 12 and 7 guy for a conference rival.

Rock wasn’t good enough to play here. But at 7’1 that can decently move I don’t fault TJ bringing him in early to accelerate his development. It didn’t happen, nothing against the kid. But in this day and age you can’t afford to sit a kid 2-3 years while he develops and costs money.
There are also kids that are good players that just don't end up being good fits in TJ's system.

But…..he’s not that good !!
I agree, he seems to play much smaller than his listed height and weight. But then he also doesn't have the ability to score beyond like 8 feet. Turnstile on defense etc. His hs and former hawk teammate Brock Harding failed his way to a lot of minutes on an Ncaa tournament qualifying Big 12 school. Maybe it's my bias talking, but I don't know why or how these guys keep getting so many opportunities

He keeps failing up, unbelievable

Honestly I thought he would get a lot better at Creighton with McD as his coach. Figured he would get some good big man coaching. He played really well at Iowa. So he is not failing up. Also, one could argue that Auburn in basketball is not "Up" compared to Creighton. The kid has some talent but I have heard he is a bit lazy and needs to be in the right system.

I thought Harding was solid for TCU, just undersized and lacking a three point shot.

I don't mind Harding's game. Good handler, facilitates pretty well and is a really tough kid. You can do a lot worse.

Everytime I watched TUC PG was the position they were obviously lacking in. I don't see what he brought to that team other than a warm body.

The transfer portal is so weird - there's a bunch of guys entering the portal (like Riley Kugel from UCF or Chendall Weaver from Texas) who have played 4 full years and appear to be entering the portal just in case the rules change granting a 5th year, I guess?

Correct. Similar to what Dominick Nelson is doing; getting yourself in the portal and hoping for an extra year.
