We did the fair Friday, soccer Saturday afternoon, and soccer this morning. F*ck this heat!At Adventureland with the family. It is HOT. Soccer all day tomorrow. I’m gonna need an IV by Saturday night.
We were at the fair Friday also when that front...erm, sorry, don't remember the correct meteorological term...came through around 7:45p. We were sitting on a bench on the grand concourse, and this wind just comes through, whipping the flags ontop the VI building and any that were located on the food stands. There was audible reaction from the fair crowd when that happened. Significant temperature drop immediately, and it even felt less humid. Probably the second weirdest weather phenomenon I've experienced personally. We did the fair Friday, soccer Saturday afternoon, and soccer this morning. F*ck this heat!
I was in the grandstand and that felt fabulous. I was sitting and sweating and that breeze was so refreshing. We were at the fair Friday also when that front...erm, sorry, don't remember the correct meteorological term...came through around 7:45p. Weirdest for me was the September 2005 tornado that touched down on campus (mid-week, not the tornado game that happened later in the year).Probably the second weirdest weather phenomenon I've experienced personally.
I mean...it's like you didn't even research the school mascot before you came here.Weirdest for me was the September 2005 tornado that touched down on campus (mid-week, not the tornado game that happened later in the year).
It had been very windy all morning, then, between classes, when I walked across the street from Kildee to Agronomy Hall, it was completely still, almost eerie. A few minutes later I was sitting in the hall waiting for my next class to start and the wind blew the doors open on each end of the building. Eventually the small tornado hit campus and knocked a tree onto the building setting off the fire alarms, causing lots of confusion as to go to the basement or go outside.
What a way to start my first couple weeks or so of my freshman year

Last tornado on campus came without warning
The last tornado to touch ground on the ISU campus was quite a surprise. The F1 tornado occurred Sept. 8, 2005 around noon. According to the Iowa State News Service, there had been no tornado watches or warnings in the hours leading up to the storm. An article in the Chicago Tribune reported...iowastatedaily.com
Ha! Quite the opposite, I was very excited. Was a little alarming though that the grad student kept trying to lead the seminar throughoutI mean...it's like you didn't even research the school mascot before you came here.

I'm keeping a watch on the forecast for the 30th. I know it's too far out and weather.com isn't the most reliable, but right now they have a high of 76 for that Saturday. Would be glorious for the first home game.
I’m seeing a low of 45 on Monday. That’s jumping right into fall weather.
