We have gotten 4, 1.5, 1.5 , 2.5 inches in a week. And my pond in the yard turned into a lake with last nights 2.5. This is getting ridiculous.
10 day forecast looks like 10 more days of the exact same forecast: storms almost daily and hotter than balls. River levels could get real interesting.

Was traveling around the Cedar Rapids area for work this week, lots of rivers full but not quite flooding also the Des Moines River in Ft Dodge is the same way. Plenty of water.

I was going to try and mow again tonight (just mowed on Monday), but the .8" we got are probably going to put a damper on that.

We got 1.4 in. in west Ames early this morning, bringing our unofficial total for July thus far to 10 in. I heard it thunder, did not hear it rain. Maybe I'm becoming used to the sound.

I'm just glad it didn't go out overnight. My sump pump has been working overtime lately.
Mine ran a lot after a couple of weeks ago. but haven't heard it since. I checked the pit and it was full. Just touched the float and it ran fine. Just strange that it hasn't ran much that past week or so.

Just saw this posted on FB, Flashback Friday for me. Had been in my Twin Cities house only a year and was glad I was on a hill. Buddy was over and ended up crashing at my house for the night since all of the streets leading out of the hood were flooded.
