Wonder if ISU will cancel class. They actually canceled once due to cold when I was in school. I think the wind chill was around -30 or something like that. I lived on Welch and my dumb ass walked all the way to Mole Bio only to realize class had been cancelled when I got there. I actually got a nose bleed from the cold on the walk.

I vividly remember standing at the bus stop at the end of Welch with a -40 wind chill. Had to be the coldest I've ever been. That would be in... 2008 I think.

I want to say my freshman year (2003-2004) I remember a four day stint where the temp never got above 0. Waiting for CyRide felt like an eternity.

Now that students and professors are more used to doing classes virtually, ISU has been more willing in the past few years to cancel in-person classes. Both this year and last year, the first day of the spring semester had a campus closure (no in-person classes) due to extreme cold/wind chills.

I remember the nasty ice storm that came through the Friday of that Spring Break. I was working late in lab and left the next morning to go back to WI.
After I ended up sliding into the median near Dows, I figured I'd wait for the salt trucks to come through first at the next exit.

I hope not it doesn't. I think icy, slick roads are worse. Bundle up!
I will affect the women's game more than the men's I would think. The women tend to have an older crowd, and I would guess many of us will stay at home and not want to get out when its -13 below. My wife and I have already decided we will not be going if it gets that cold, she really struggles walking and breathing in the cold air.

BACK IN MY DAY! (2010-2013) it was cold as **** walking home from the bars. no ubers no nothing. just a man with a flip phone and the prospect of 2 totinos pizzas
My son claims they called for pizza deliveries then when the delivery driver would show up they would pool some cash and the delivery driver would take them all home.
