I just got in as well, it's getting NASTY out there.

I think I'm going to regret only making two passes at the driveway today and not a third.

15 inches in South Waterloo, still snowing and the wind is starting to blow.

It's going to get super nasty overnight and they've pulled the plows in Black Hawk County for the night

Planning to head up from SE Iowa. Things here should be fine by morning but nit sure as I get closer. Any advice on how much earlier I should leave?

Help me to understand, why are people out clearing snow now? Looks like there is at least another hour or so of snow here. I don't get it.

Generally I agree but most people don't have both the equipment to handle anything and the luxury of time to wait out the storm without ever having to go anywhere.

I did some quick shoveling early this morning to get a car out but didn't do any real clearing until tonight, and after wrestling the snowblower through a few drifts, with as wet and heavy as that stuff was, I"m wiped out.

I’m adding an hour on a 90 minute trip and going mostly interstate.

I’m not sure how much we got. Maybe 6-8”? That’s a decent amount, but not the worst of it. Now that the wind has picked up, I’ll be battling drifts in the driveway for a week.

Final total from SE Cedar Rapids. 14" on my back deck. It's relatively protected, so that's probably a pretty accurate number.

Those numbers aren’t real time. For example, that Ames number was reported at 3:30pm. All of those numbers will go up as they get updated.

Probably should acknowledge a real good job by the weather predictors on this one. I wouldn't consider this a bust.
