Am I the only one that loves a giant snow storm? Bring it on. Let’s set some records.
I don't mind the first couple snows typically.

More winter dragging on and on gets depressing. And with this much snow early I worry it could set up for a long winter.

I will say, i'll take a foot of snow over multiple small snowfalls. If we're going to have to mess with it, might as well make it worth it.

Beat it home from western Iowa, got daughter turned around and out the door and headed back to Iowa City in about fifteen minutes. Looks like she may have to drive through the start of it, if it starts to reach the ground, but should not experience any major issues tonight.

I'm pretty much past that stage in my life. Light snow is nice, particularly around christmas. This kind of snow is just a tremendous pain in the ass, especially when its followed by cold and little chance of the snow pack melting any time soon. If I wanted northern Wisconsin or Minnesota weather I'd move there.

Same. When you have children and grandchildren traveling during the holidays, your mindset changes.

Exactly. My daughter is traveling to Davenport with her mom tonight and is supposed to return tomorrow and that is definitely not happening. I'm supposed to travel on Sunday and help my parents decorate for Christmas because they are getting too old to do it themselves and thats looking iffy at this point if we really get that much snow.

True. My intentions for the snow are a bit selfish. Me and the family don’t have any plans for the weekend other than bunkering at home. We will decorate. Play in the snow outside. Maybe go sledding. And I get to run my snowblower which I ******* love.

I like snowstorms when they are just snow. Relatively easy to clean off and make travel possible. What I hate is the storms that start as rain and transition to snow. That creates an icy mess that creates havoc on the roads.

Oh, and wind. True pretty snow storms must be perfectly calm as the snow falls.
