No filter on mine, just a long-exposure night setting (gives finer detail than is perceptible by the eye alone)Are the posts with a phone filter? I only ask because there is truly nothing more spectacular than just sitting and watching them with your bare eyes. I was working ground (around this time of year) like 15 years ago and saw the fireworks and flares at like 2-3 am. The bright purples and greens are something I won’t forget.
Mine were taken in night mode. I've never seen them with the naked eye until tonight. So cool. Are the posts with a phone filter? A lot of it depends on how much light pollution is around you. I’m in the twin cities and for the first time I could see th pink color of the northern lights with my bare eyes. Are the posts with a phone filter? Same. I'm in a suburb of Minneapolis. When I first walked outside, I thought there was a fire because the sky on the horizon was all red.A lot of it depends on how much light pollution is around you. But yes.. seeing it with your bare eyes is far more enjoyable than having to use your camera filter

My mom down in southern Iowa was able to pick them up with her camera, but she said you couldn't really see them with the naked eye. In WDM, I managed to get a shot of them somewhat, even with all the light pollution.Eh, disagree. What we saw with the naked eye pales in comparison to any photo taken of them, ever. Yeah, we saw some red in the sky, but NOTHING like any of the photos. We're on the outskirts of town, but have seen them out in farmland before, too.
9/10 times yes. Last night the pictures were nearly identical to what we saw with the naked eye.Eh, disagree. What we saw with the naked eye pales in comparison to any photo taken of them, ever. I went a bit north of Cedar Rapids last night, where it was nice and dark - to the naked eye, it was a glow in the sky, similar to high clouds being illuminated by city lights. I didn’t see any color at all. It was cooler to see the stars again (you can’t see them in town).
I agree. It was amazing.9/10 times yes. Last night the pictures were nearly identical to what we saw with the naked eye.
Has anyone saw or heard anything about an upcoming Thanksgiving blizzard hitting Iowa? I get its a week out, but I saw something a few minutes ago about it happening.
Now I saw something saying it's all a fake, and not to worry.
