***Official 2025 Weather Thread***

In these conditions, I’m not upset if someone is mowing early in the morning.

In weather less trecherous than this, I would start mowing at 8a on a Saturday so I could be done with the entire yard (mow/rake/bag) by 10a. I could then go inside to the A/C and enjoy the rest of my Saturday, knowing I at least got something major done that day.

I was the neighborhood ******** and started at 7:30am.

It seems as though many others were just waiting for someone to make the first move because suddenly we all gave zero ***** about cutting wet grass.
My neighbor started siding his house at 6:30 am yesterday.

I have so much **** to do outside tonight and I don't wanna do a god damned ounce of it.

I specifically went straight out after my workout and reminded myself I'm already sweaty and gross, roll with it. Came in very green from rubbing on tomatoes too often. Also zucchini ******* scratched me to hell.

I do not get why people were mowing at 2pm today. Insanely dangerous.

Thursday which was also a heat advisory day, our neighbor did a long walk late afternoon started push mowing and stopped halfway. I saw him leaning on his truck but he went inside, found out he passed out. Surprised he's pushing mowing again today and not wife or kid.

Honestly might be the worst weather in the country. Our winters and summers are both brutal and our springs and falls feel like they get shorter every year.
Oh, its not that bad. It sucks in January and February and it sucks in July and August. It's fine outside of that and those 4 bad months keep a lot of people from wanting to live here which is the only real benefit of living in Iowa.

Coming from you, I never thought you'd admit it!

The weather leaves things to be desired now in the state of Iowa, but yea, Iowa sucks
Hey Gonzo, I really appreciate your input on this board for the most part. Hope you took this as a little good natured ribbing (you did leave the door wide open :) )

I stopped by my parents yesterday at noon after I mowed to see if they needed theirs done and my mom was out there.
Some people like them from that era don't want to "bug" anyone but I'd much rather help than hear about something like this.

I did...and regretted it immediately! Set a personal record for water breaks!
Yeah don't mean to take a pot shot at anyone for doing it then if it was the only time they had available. Meant it more for I dont get why people aren't up to much in the morning and then wait to do it then.
Just be careful out there people.

No worries at all...didn't take it as a shot at anyone...and I agree with you! That said...I was dumb enough to choose that time to mow! LOL!

First round an hour ago went just north of me. Second round is on the way but looks to pass south of me. Somebody south of Twin Cities if lined up to get "freight trained'.

Oh yeah, I saw what you did there and quietly appreciated it. I just didn't want to further infect the weather thread with hokdom... which I guess I just did.
