If the Cubs at least split the next two, they will win the season series and have a tiebreaker for the Division if they are able to claw back.

Still think they need to win both of the next two to have a chance, barring something weird.

Today was more about getting some mojo back and hopefully we turn the page on the last 45 days.

Couple timely hits, Nico and Shaw just total studs. We has a Willi Castro sighting today. Jameson was great, if we can get him going it would be a big plus too.

Some really good baserunning today too.

Taillon's effort was huge! He was around 50 pitches in the first 2 innings and thought he might only get 3 innings based on high pitch count/inning & returning from injury. Awesome job to throw only 40 pitches over the next 4 innings.

Even if the Cubs split the next 2, it breaks the Brewers bubble of invincibility. Lose the next 2 the Cubs are just playing for the WC.

Whether the Cubs can make a run at the Brewers is more about how each team plays over the last 34 games of the season (e.g Brewers go 13-21 & Cubs go 21-13).

Maybe I should rephrase this. Is his presence having a net negative impact on the lineup?
He’s going through it right now, and even he might not be able to figure out exactly what’s going on. You gotta stop with the “he’s overrated” thing though. Go take a look at his career numbers and keep in mind he has a WS ring. He’s an elite hitter and you wouldn’t be able to find a single scout that disagrees with that. I’m quite certain he’s still going to have a huge impact on this offense before the season is done. Even with this putrid stretch included he has an .821 OPS on the year. That’s pretty insane when you think about it.
