*** Official 2025 Chicago Cubs Thread***

This FO needs to realize that Kyle Hendricks was a unicorn and stop trying to shoehorn somebody in to being the next one. Screw pitchability and just to load up on guys when velo.

We have the Royals, White Sox, Orioles, and Reds sandwiched in between the Brewers twice. Everything is going to be ok.
I think the bats will heat up again at some point after the break, but I just don't see the Cubs having the pitching to be a serious pennant contender. I also don't see the level of pitching available through trades to solve it.

Therefore, I would rather not mortgage the future. Play it out, make the playoffs, get knocked out early, resign Tucker and make big decisions in the offseason.

Happ back in but not hitting leadoff. Probably right thing based on his current form. Turner & Berti back in the line-up again today vs. another lefty.

I get pulling Boyd in certain situations, and understand doing so with who was coming up, but I would of given him a shot to go the distance with how well he shut this lineup down today.

I think CC actually played it perfect, 85 pitches 5-0 lead let someone try to close it out but go get DP before the tying run gets to the plate. Only had to face two batters so our closer is good to go tomorrow

If anything, we showed Jed that we can’t go into October with the current situation we have of relievers in high leverage.

Need a new 8th inning man.

I wonder if Jed and Counsell have had beef lately. Leaving Wicks in last night was funny stuff lol. As if Counsell was saying “watch this dumbass!”
