Strong disagree. Just because you're not 100% doesn't mean you don't play you're ace. Look what he did last Thursday to a team that was putting runs up against us in the series.
It's incredible really. Just by random chance you think he could get a bloop hit occasionally.

When he bats 7th or 8th his OPS is 1.315 and 1.183, anywhere else in the lineup he's .681 or worse but we apparently are obsessed with not letting Busch face lefties. Last season he actually hit lefties for a higher batting average than righties .258 to .246 but with Turner on on the roster he probably won't get to the 89 AB he got against lefties last year as he's only at 38 AB right now and yeah his splits are worse hitting .105 against lefties and .312 against righties in 2025 but I wonder if that would improve if they just played him every day regardless like they did with PCA. PCA is batting .194 against lefties this year but he hardly sits. These kids will never develop if you don't take the kid gloves off at some point.
For a team that is so about matchups and analytics with certain players like Busch it is mind boggling how they keep batting Swanson in the lineup where he is. I mean I can read splits and here is his BA base on where he hits in the order:

Very good & talented player but does some head-shaking (in a bad way) things at times.

Not blaming PCA there, you’re looking to coach for what to do and he’s down there acting like it’s a play at the plate. So PCA had no indication throw was coming to 3rd until too late
I wouldn't say a lot. PCA gotta know he isn't getting an in the park homer, and if the coach isn't there to tell you what to do, get down.
100% - runner should be absolutely locked on the 3rd base coach in a situation like that.
Agree. That said, part of me thinks he WAS thinking “inside the park homer”.
Which speaks to his level of experience. Glad he is here, and deserves the All Star start, but he's still got room for improvement.
