*** Official 2025 Chicago Cubs Thread***

The Civale waiver claim is strange. He got traded to the White Sox because he wanted to start and not come out of the bullpen. Will be interesting to see how he is used and if that causes any disruption if they ask him.to come out of the pen.

These outfield communication blunders are getting old. Seems like Cubs have more than their fair share, but maybe I don't watch enough non-Cubs games

That looked to be a pretty routine play for Tucker.

This has been an issue since PCA came up. Part lack of communication and part LF/RF defer to PCA too much.

IMO even when PCA defers, he tends to glide toward the catch point instead of veering behind.

I uh… wouldn’t hate Civale getting a chance at Rea’s spot in the rotation.
Pitching is what will make or break this team the rest of the season. Boyd has not pitched this many innings since 2019, Horton is on a roll but he is is going to be entering into uncharted territories for innings too. Rea wasn't expected to pitch this many innings either. Civale hasn't been much more than a backend rotation arm in his career so may as well roll the dice on a start or 2 and see how he does at this point. For as much crap that Taillon catches here, we really need him healthy soon as he eats some quality innings when he is at his best.
