Man...palencia has such a good arm...but his slider doesn't slide much and he still struggles throwing strikes consistently

The four pitch walk showed he isn’t ready to close yet. Tucker could/should have caught that but when he didn’t, Palencia cratered.

Tucker, after taking a horrible route on that ball, sure also took his time getting to that last ball in the corner.

Lol, and I was just advocating for Palencia to get a shot at closing. This bullpen us such trash.
Yep they aren't that good to begin with and also feels like to me some of them are being over-used. Have a bad feeling of what they will be come August & September.

I don't know, i really like palencia, just has to get another pitch he can throw with confidence, just isn't there yet

Where was Hodge tonight?

Imagine how good this Cubs team would be in terms of results if they had a Lee Smith, or Randy Myers, or Wade Davis etc... Instead we watch this end-of-game puke job year after year in the Jed regime. /tired_of_it

That 0-2 slider might be the worst pitch I’ve ever seen. Can’t locate it— why are you throwing it in that count?
