*** Official 2025 Chicago Cubs Thread***

I mean I don’t blame the dodgers for taking advantage of the situation but it needs to be more fair. Or it’s just going to get non competitive and people will stop watching the game. Will destroy the league overall. Fans will stop going to games. Will stop buying MLB shows and streams. Won’t be good for anyone.

Tucker is going to have a monster two years as the #4 guy in that lineup. Absolute perfect situation for his personality.

Then he's going to opt out and get his $400M from somebody

What is a your definition of a monster year? .300+BA, 40+ HR, and 120+ RBI?

.850 OPS, 30+ HR, 30 doubles, 120 RBI, 25 SB

With his defense, that's a 5 WAR year.

He's going to hit 3rd with Ohtani and Betts in front of him and on base all the time with Freeman, Smith and Edman to protect him. I mean that lineup is so stacked that either Muncy or Hernandez are going to hit 9th.

I agree he’s solid offensively, but he’s not a great defender. Honestly, I have no idea how he won a Gold Glove.

5 WAR definitely isn’t worth $60m as far as value goes, the dodgers just don’t care.

Has Tucker ever hit more than 30 homeruns or batted better than .300?
Probably depends how many games he plays, but the guy can rake, he's basically good for .850+ OPS every season so far, I just think he's only worth $60m to the one team with the infinite money glitch.

Had years of .294, .284 and .289. Went 30, 30, 29, 23 (in 78 games) in his last 4 years in Houston.

OPS .917, .808, .886, .993 his last 4 years in Houston and was .841 in a 'down' year last year.

He also walks more than he strikes out.

He's an absolutely elite bat.

That said, I agree with Jed not giving that to him. Only bad things come from trying to match money with the Dodgers.
