Decent amount of ice in CR, but I was able to make my way around the streets without too much issue. A few trees are leaning, mostly it's christmas decorations in people's yards that are taking the brunt of it.

I'm in eastern Iowa and there seemed to be more ice on the windows earlier.

The grass was more slick than the stairs.

Rural areas of Marion County (Pella west) has more ice than we need. About a quarter inch on my sidewalk. Won’t be going anywhere for a while.

Remember when I was a youngster we had an ice storm in NE Iowa where you could literally not stand up. My brother and I took our sleds with steel runners out on the gravel roads. The challenge was to see how far we could go before we ran into the ditch. Of course after a few runs we had to try going standing up on the sleds. Great memories.

I walked down to the street to see how bad it is. Slid all the way down the driveway then when I hit the street I fell feet in the air hard. Don't know if any of the neighbors were watching but I'm sure they were laughing their ass off if they did.

Main roads that are treated in DSM are pretty good. Side streets are tricky but just try and stay in the middle.

I remember a storm like that. We took our sleds down the road about a half mile to a decent hill and slid right down the gravel. Might have been the same storm you’re thinking of.
