Nope, that guy confirmed he didn’t and he was talking to him within the last hour. He’s riding it out on the boat.

Agree...and not knowing anything about this guy...who knows what his agenda/beliefs are...and obviously there are people there trying to reason with him...so in the end you are spot on: it is his own fault.

Is he riding it out in the open water? I know some people further up the east coast ride our hurricanes by going up rivers and dropping anchor but not sure that applies to one this size.

Good news: it looks like Tampa will be on the north side of the storm, which should limit the storm surge for that area. But Sarasota to Venice looks to take a big beating today/tonight

Same thing that's weakening Milton as it comes on short (slightly) is actually aiding in tornadogenesis in the outer bands of Milton. Tornado outbreak happening now in Florida ahead of landfall. Some of the image I've seen gives Midwest/Plains chase type vibes. Crazy.
